Interesting article on Perry Ellis...

Here is an article from Jesse Newell that will get the Ellis haters in a tizzy…
-
@JayHawkFanToo Way too much sabermetrics in there for me, but I get the gist (I think). Not sure why there’s Ellis haters. He’s going to be thought highly of for decades after he’s gone. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the link!
I think Perry has looked a little sluggish these past games. He looked better in the first games. But it is just too early to declare him “dead” for the year.
If Perry stays healthy, I feel we will be praising his play later in the year. He looks to be in the best condition of his life, and he is ready to be more aggressive than past years.
A lot depends on the help he gets, both in the post and on the perimeter.

@drgnslayr they said he has a hip injury
-
@Crimsonorblue22 I could be wrong. But why does it seem like our players “nagging” injuries last a lot longer than other teams!?
-
@JhawkAlum guess we probably don’t hear about other teams nagging injuries. Think they all have them.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 whenever I hear Self say “There’s nothing structurally wrong” I cringe!
-
@JhawkAlum I know my kids went thru many ice buckets and ice baths.
-
Let’s not forget that Perry had 5 huge points at a critical time in the game that basically bailed KU.

Man, back in my younger days–those days when I never actually had an injury–I’d say, “c’mon, Perry. Play through the pain.”
Now, at the ripe age of 50, I’ve been dealing with a sore hip (bursitis/inflammation ) for the first time in my life, and all I do is run/jog 3-5 miles a day. Sit on my ass the rest of the time. Ice machine is working overtime the way I’m going through it. If he has a hip issue, I don’t see how he can play at the level he’s playing at now.
People say you can play through pain, but you really can’t for an extended period of time.
-
@DanR I’m 57 and know what you mean, but I still think you can play through pain a whole lot better at 20 than at 50+ !
-
When you knees can predict the weather you are way past the age when you can play though pain…:)
