There would be a big crowd? Jk

“Weber stressed K-State and Missouri have merely had informal conversations about a series, but he sees its merits. He was part of a similar series with Missouri, the Braggin’ Rights game in St. Louis, when he coached Illinois.”
“Bragging rights” for what? Perhaps Weber needs a geography lesson!
-
@drgnslayr Our little buddy was probably referring to East St Louis, Il.
But more likely, as you stated, he needs a geography lesson.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Ehhh, who cares? Both middling to low teams in their respective conferences, they can play each other till their inbred hearts are content.
-
@Lulufulu “inbred hearts are content.” Love it.

The late Bill Self, for whom they had a “funeral” for in Illinois when Weber took over the loaded&stacked Illini, stated in his book that once Mizzou snubbed him for Quinn Snyder, he took special interest in their “Border” Series game between Mizzou and Illini…
How appropriate that he brought that same mentality over to KU. I 300% applaud Bill Self for not wanting to play Mizzou, simply to not add any $$ to their coiffers. They don’t deserve KU-generated money. Plain and simple. I don’t give a rat’s droppings about Mizzou. KState isn’t far behind, simply because of fan behavior. I got nothing against KState University, the institution, or their academic programs. Their fan’s “rivalry” vs KU is simply hillbilly hog-poo, causing themselves (& our state) much embarrassment on natl TV.
Meanwhile, I’ll offer a toast to the Duke-UNC rivalry, irrespective of the ESPN/EastCoast bias.

@ralster Old Norm set the standard for cheapness by never allowing his teams to overnight, eat, whatever in Kansas. So kudos to HCBS for taking it up a notch.
-
I’m going to lay out a guess here.
Since these two programs suck to high heaven, and are both in a state of complete desperation, I’m guessing they will want to steal the name “Border Showdown” that KU and MU had back in our series.
I think I’ll call it the “Bumf*ck Showdown”… something just a wee bit more appropriate for the participants.
Gosh… I can see “Milwaukee’s Best” sponsoring this event, along with Hormel hotdogs and a morning-after pill company… after all, don’t want to get sister pregnant. Better spread the seed at least to a cousin.
These two schools were made for each other. Let the breeding begin!

@drgnslayr That is awesome!
