@kjayhawks2.0 It starts with line play -- offense and defense. ie A mediocre QB and RB can look great behind a stellar line. Just not sure these are the best linemen available in the portal. (We should have the $$$.)

Can anyone who knows more about the portal than I do tell me how to feel about our additions so far?

@Jayhawk_69 Someone will eventually rank the portal class after it closes. For me . . . I'm pleased that there is a focus on offensive and defensive linemen and linebackers. However, the quality of the haul seems to be mediocre. For example, we picked up some DTs and DEs, but Texas Tech got the #1 defensive lineman. Our best lineman is out of Texas where he didn't play consistently. We are getting mostly 3-star recruits like we did pre-Liepold. I'd sure like to know where David Booth's money is going.

@FarmerJayhawk Yes, but he donated far more than the cost to finish the building. It DOES illustrate how far behind we were in funding football. So much is going / has gone to the stadium that it leaves much less for paying players in this era of professional college football.

Well here we go already , got your na sayers talking about the players that are committing from the portal. No matter what Coach L and staff do it's not good enough . Players from Miami , South Carolina , Georgia , Texas , Kentucky still not good enough,
Just because these guys didn't play a lot doesn't mean these kids still aren't good solid players , they are coming from some pretty dam good programs loaded with 5 *'s & 4 * players doesn't mean these guys aren't solid.
Some people thinking we going into portal and just pull in all these super athletes sorry to say just not going to happen. just because they didn't play a lot doesn't mean everything.-- -give these kids reps , more then 5-10 reps see how they turn out. After all there was a reason they got recruited by these schools in the first plae. Some are never happy let's see how it works out

@JoJoAndMe Again just because they supposedly didn't play that much doesn't really equate to them not being quality players There are alot of really good quality players that fall under this, might be a case just deep at their position doesn't mean they are EH..
Not necessarily sayig you but there are people that think these 4 and 5 star players are just going to start falling into our laps. What people have to understand that's not happening at this point and time we might get a four star or two every now and then but not at that level yet, We may never be at that level but people who really follow our recruiting knows how our recruiting is improving.
We are recruiting kids now that before wouldn't even return a phone call or let us in the house - - - instead of being the only school that has offered some kid we are in recruiting battles many times with the likes of Michigan St- -- - Auburns-- Oklahoma schools such as that, Now are we winning a lot of those battles at this point ?-- No , but point is we are in the chase takes time, and now we were having to battle with this dam NIL, as you know it's just a bidding war for the meat anymore. These kids have no loyalty for the school it's all about the money

It looks like we grabbed an upgrade at left tackle from Cal. Clements can move to right tackle. I hope to see more solid commits over the next week or so.

I just heard we got a really good running back from K-State. (College football has turned wierd.)

It’s a good use of scholarship. We need a guy who can take the ball to the house.
But he is a little bit of a head case.

Are we sure that he has actually committed---committed or is it he said he was going to ?= = reading off K/State site that his agent had said KU was a School he was thinking about visiting- --just curious, Swain hasn't said anything about it yet, IF he does would be very solid pick up

lot of talk from both schools fans. K State & KU.- --haven't seen anything confirming.- - A lot don't want him because of all his drama. Got lots of speed but something just doesn't sound right about this
