KU women lost last night in the first round of the Big 12 tournament to KSU (for the third time this year). Too many turnovers, missed opportunities at the free throw line and layups and wrong people taking shots. TWO baskets in the first half. Can’t figure out how to break a 2-3 defense, time outs were a disaster as has been the case for years. Bonnie has taken her team as far as KU women have ever went in the NCAA tourney, twice. This scenario is similar to Ted Owens era. Ted Owens was a great coach, took his teams to final fours and is to this day an awesome individual; a class act. The decision was made that KU needed a change and the Owens era ended. That change has ended up pretty good for KU basketball. Thank you Bonnie for your time and efforts at KU. Bonnieball is over!
