What KU Football Cannot Overcome.

Google 2026 NIL Rankings by School

Wouldn't exactly trust google for this especially if just looking at the AI results. Having been around the area a ton, Michigan's budget is likely second to almost none.
-
Michigan is #14@ $47.6 million. See for yourself. If you find other information, please post it.

I'm sure these numbers are being crunched by every university, but Google reports Texas's football revenue for 2025 was $298 million with a net profit of $107 million. But, all the other Texas sports programs lost money, so the sports department shows a loss for the year. NIL funds come from a different pocket, but man oh man, $300 million of gross revenue. From a different source, Google reports KU's football revenue at 37 million for 2025. Say it ain't so, Joe. Like a new born pup running with the big dogs.
-
Yeah those numbers aren’t public. That’s why we get polls of what front office types think programs are spending and very few actual numbers reported.
-
It will be interesting to see how long this goes on before some sort of regulations are put in place. I wouldn’t trust this info 100% but the athletic just released a similar list. The trouble is we know for a fact teams like Texas, Michigan and Ohio state are probably spending north of 50 million on rosters. While a team like Kansas is probably spending 10-15 million. Eventually it’s gonna take away some of the parity in the sport. Everyone but the Big 10 and Sec are gonna turn into the minor leagues in a sense. Heck one could argue they already have.

@kjayhawks2.0 KU number is slightly over that but not by much... Of course the coach combo we have and the stadium chews into things but still.
Athletic article is good, it is at least educated guess stuff.
Some change is coming if the Save College Sports thing happens.

Here are some numbers from "The NIL Standard." These are NIL for football only:
Texas $48.9 mil
LSU $42.7 mil
Oregon $42.3
Ohio St $38.0 mil
Ole Mis is at $35.0 mil and Indiana is at $33.0 mil
In the Big 12 Tech is $35.9 mil and Houston is at $26.9 mil
Kansas is ranked 11th in the conference, spending $19.7 mil -
@JoJoAndMe Those kind of numbers will ruin college sports. It's sickening that an organization that drove people nuts for their strictness in maintaining the amateur status of athletes has let it go so far to the other extreme.
