Chatting KU Baylor hoops here
-
Amazing game. Lots to love. Only concern is Greene appearing hurt. Any thoughts?
-
58% 3 pt shooting tonight. Looked like we’d dropped from 3rd nationally to 4th with the last couple games, but tonight should have helped.
-
@KUSTEVE good point. I’d like to see it. Right now I feel it’s a tough game. And the PHOG wins the game by single digits in the end.
-
@cragarhawk Me too…lol. I have buds who root for other teams on college bb websites, and they laugh their ass off at Ku fans wanting to get rid of the best coach we’ve ever had.
-
@joeloveshawks Hope the thumb is ok…we need BG back asap…
-
@cragarhawk Just being a homer fan! No, OU actually worries me.
@KUSTEVE I actually didn’t know anything about KU basketball until I enrolled there in 1985, so I don’t remember Ted Owens, but I’ve heard. Back then I was all about anything having to do with Chicago hoops, Depaul, U of I, even Loyola was very good then.
-
@KUSTEVE I think it has more to do with the those particular individuals than who our coach is or what he accomplishes honestly. Some ppl will just always need to say we gotta fire the coach. It’s internal wiring
-
@wissoxfan83 Loved Ray Meyer and Mark Aguirre…man, that was an amazing run…
-
@wissoxfan83 I’m in though. We can wax them. I’d accept that.
-
@KUSTEVE I still can’t believe though that we let St. Joe’s go full court in the last second to beat us! I was a stupid HS kid that year and I thought I wanted to kill myself after that!
-
@wissoxfan83 I was 16 or 17…just loved the DePaul Cinderella story.
-
@wissoxfan83 I was on campus from 82-86 as a student. BBall wasn’t gaining momentum until 85 or 86 under Brown…or I was just out of touch.
I think Late Night started around that time as a marketing tool to gain more interest.
'86 it was rocking though, a dream slightly deferred until '88.
-
@Bwag we took what they gave us, perfectly tonight! Outside first half, inside 2nd half.
-
This OU-ISU game seems like the OU style of play under Tubbs back in the run and gun period.
-
@cragarhawk maybe these 2, OU and ISU will wear each other out.
-
@Bwag OU plays that way all the time…
-
Man I hope OU settles for jumpshots like this on monday
-
@KUSTEVE This is run and gun like nobody’s business…
We’re going to have to be back on defense or they’ll outrun us.
-
@cragarhawk IF KU guards them tough, which they will, then they will settle for jump shots quite a bit. Heild is a pro, that kid can straight up ball. He can make the game very interesting if Selden can’t contain him fully.
-
It’s a contested early jumpshots or a wide open layup every time on both ends right now… Crazy
-
OU-ISU game reminds me of the Loyola Marymount, OU, UNLV (?) offenses of the late 80’s.
-
Do we have anyone that can consistently keep Niang out of the paint off the dribble? OU doesn’t so far. He’s having his way in there
-
@Bwag I don’t think anyone can outrun us…lol.
-
@KUSTEVE on offense in transition I agree. But we have had trouble getting back on defense @bwag is right about that. And we haven’t played anyone that fast yet either I don’t believe
-
@KUSTEVE If we’re ready for it. They’re playing faster than us though, pushing at nearly every opportunity.
-
@cragarhawk I believe someone pushed us early in the year…but we’ve been better since then, but this has been relentless in this game.
I think I saw the shot clock hit 10 once.
-
@cragarhawk I’m sure it will be a point of emphasis in our preparation. OU is the same team we beat in Lawrence, and lost to in Norman on a last second shot last year. I think we match up quite well with them.
-
That was an awesome game to watch! My idea of fun, even on the top row. There were so many cool videos too. They did one w/guess that tune, Svi read the words and then sang along w/it, the royals song- he was awful! It was really funny. The popup was of Bragg and it was funny too. Good time! Guys played hard, diallo, in my opinion, has a long way to go. He doesn’t seem to want to get near the bucket on O. Fading back on his shot. Perry responded well to his rear chewing. Dg played really well too. Of course Selden and Hunter looked good. I bet Bragg blocks out on throws next game! Gotta give props to BG, his game is getting better. Thought Selden could have got the ball to him more. Can’t wait for Monday!
-
ISU up on OU 35-31
-
@RockChalkinTexas I really dislike ISU.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Me too! McKay and Niang are both so full of themselves.
-
@KUSTEVE w/out Perry and BG!
-
@RockChalkinTexas and morris
-
@Crimsonorblue22 No Rock Chalk chant at the endthat I could hear on tv.
-
Niang running point, bringing the ball up
-
Did they ever show the replay of Mason mugging? BG was hit across his arm and Mari never touched the 3 Baylor guys all dribbling together! They showed that again.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 I didn’t see it.
-
Which section were you in. We were in 16. Row 25.
-
Heard ksu lost bowl game! Can’t say much so I won’t!
-
@FarSideHawk sec4 row 27, across from KU bench top row.
-
@Bwag I am not sure about that. We push it at every opportunity also.
-
@FarSideHawk did you have fun?
-

@DinarHawk Not like I was watching in the first half of the OU/ISUgame. These teams were jacking up the first available open or semi-open look. Then it comes down to whether they are connecting or not.
Don’t get me wrong, I think we can play like this, we just gotta be ready.
-
OU @ 13:50 mark in the 2nd half has taken 23 3 pointers. Only hitting 30% and down 1. ISU only shot 11 3pt’s @ 45%.
-
ISUshooting 50% from the field
-
@Bwag OU was throwing up prayers like they were 20 down! Finally calmed down. I like Kruger, but not sold on him being a great coach, good not great.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 The way they were shooting/playing reminded me of Loyola Marymount 89/90 if they had been hitting a better %:
The 1990 squad (Loyola-Marymount) was also the highest scoring team in NCAA Division I history with an average of 139 points per game.[2]
-
@Bwag I remember watching them, did they have the kid that died?
-
@Bwag - nice sum!
