For the record

  • Guys, I know this really isn’t where something like this would normally go/be BUT I just want to go on record as saying I couldn’t be any more proud then I am of the Ladies and what they have accomplished this year in Volleyball. Now I by far don’t want this to come across as a negative statement, and trying to figure how to word right, but don’t think there is a right right, Sooo, with that being said here is what I want to say. No matter the outcome of the match tomorrow, these Ladies so feel very proud, be very proud. Be proud of what they have accomplished this season, after all they have done something that has never been done by the Ladies before. They have established their highest National Ranking EVER within the program which was 5th before their loss to Texas, They have achieved 30 wins so far, on the season (30-2) the defeated the # 1 team in the entire NCAA tourney, which was basically a home game for USC, showed great intensity, determination that game as well the entire season, & they have obtained the final 4, another 1st in school history, this is a team that will be remembered, and greatly appreciated by true KU fans. Now again I don’t want to come across as the pessimist but it is going to take a HUGE , HUGE effort tomorrow night against Nebraska, which I feel they will give BUT will it be enough? They have a lot going against them . They will be going against the # 4? team in the tourney,& this WILL BE a home match for Nebraska, yes true not in Lincoln BUT only 59 miles away and 17,000 Nebraska fans pulling against us, very hard to beat, But they can do it, I feel they beat the #1 team in the tourney, they have played Texas very tough both times, losing in 5 the last time, goes to show they can play with anybody. I guess what I’m trying to say no matter the outcome , we need to let them know how proud we are of them for their accomplishments they have achieved. Seems a little unfair they are having to play the final four basically on one of the teams home floor, BUT really can’t blame Nebraska officals OR NCAA for the way it has turned out. they also sit their sites in and advance and had no way of knowing how things would turn out. So Ladies we are here Sooo, we might as well take it all, SO VERY PROUD Ok guys I’m sorry, again I know this isn’t where this usually goes BUT anyways THANKS GUYS . ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • @jayballer54 we just beat the #1 team in their back yard! Heck yeah we can beat them!

  • Where was the 1988 Men’s Basketball Final Four played?

  • @wrwlumpy Kansas City.

  • @KUSTEVE let’s give then hell guys. ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • Among the array of men’s and women’s collegiate sports I rarely watch anything but men’s basketball. But if that game is available on my rural Dish network tonight, I will be glued to the game. Volleyball women have provided a real shot in the arm for Kansas Athletics.

  • @REHawk ESPN has finally taken it off the shelf and will air it on espn2. In my opinion it should be on ESPN!

Any title game in a major D1 sport should be aired on the top channel. They air softball on both ESPN and espn2. Baseball ESPN. Heck the little lesgue World Series gets ABC.

    Why not Volleyball?

Maybe ESPN should go to Drnver or even Orlando and see how popular volleyball is. There are so many competitive club teams in these national and or regional tournaments. All ages 12 years old to 18. Hundreds of teams in each age group. Games going on so many courts it’s hard to count. From sun up til they are done each day.

Living in a house divided tonight. Wife and one daughter will be cheering for the Huskers. While another daughter and I will be cheering on the Jayhawks!!!

    Rock Chalk Jayhawk

  • @JRyman

No East or West cost teams, only 3 Mid West and 1 South team and the markets are considerably smaller. If the VB Final Four had 2 teams from the West Coast and 2 teams from the East Coast you can bet ESPN would have it on prime time in its flagship channel. In the end, market size (read advertising $) rules.

  • WELL hell, all I have to say to the ladies is, we’ve come to OMAHA- - - -SOOOO, LETS JUST TAKE OMAHA . rock chalk all day long baby

  • @jayballer54 by “we” are you saying you made up here? Or “we” used in the Jayhawks?

  • @JRyman Na, I didn’t make it, I’m on a very very limited income just don’t have the funds PLUS I have no Drivers License, but have watched and followed the last 2 years plus and getting really wrapped up with the ladies. Wish I could go for sure but definitely in spirit, just wish more peope could get more into it. Actually it is a pretty exciting to watch, I mean dam they work really hard, and they hit some lazers, pretty fun to watch. We have a lot of explosive players Dockery, Payne Soucie, Hall helps out, then we have an awesome setter, hoping they can pull out another great win ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • @jayballer54 I hear ya. Standing room only tix are $35 each.

    Not cheap

I agree I’ve been lucky enough to see Nenraska play twice in person this year with my wife. The speed of the game is amazing. The accuracy. The ability. All of it is a lot of fun to watch.
