Aaron miles on staff

This is exciting stuff! The article doesn’t say what exactly Miles’ position on the staff is or what he will be doing. Does anyone have any more info or expectations?

Anyway, I am excited that Miles will be able to work with Mason. Best case scenario is Miles will be able to develop PGs like Manning did big men.

  • @JhawkAlum

AFTER AARON CONCLUDES THE JOCK WASHING RITUAL YEAR OF FUTURE GREAT SELF ASSISTANTS, HOPEFULLY HE WILL BE TURNING OUT RAZOR EDGED AND HARD NOSED POINT GUARD FANATICS IN NO TIME.

  • @JhawkAlum I think his title is something like Assistant director of student athlete development…

  • @Lulufulu thanks for the info! I was dying to know his position was… What will his duties as assistant director student athletes Intel? Will he be able to work one on one or Is he subject to washring jocks this year?

    Se

  • @JhawkAlum Awww man, you’ll have to ask someone else that question. I have no idea

  • @JhawkAlum No on-court coaching allowed, but he can talk to players off-court.

  • @JhawkAlum

Here are a couple of description from ads from other schools:

Position reports directly to the Assistant Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Development. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: coordinating elements of the life skills program and the Richard A. Baddour Carolina Leadership Academy, both programs for student-athletes. Developing and coordinating career development and community outreach events for student-athletes, both individually and for sport programs, and creating and updating social media relating to the student-athlete development program. Ensure that all events and activities are conducted in compliance with all departmental, University and NCAA rules and regulations.

    and…

Under the direction of Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Services and Director of Student-Athlete Development, this position will serve as Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Development - Employer Relations for student-athletes in the Athletic Department. This position will be responsible for implementing and conducting programs for current and former student-athletes that will enhance the individual professionally, socially, and personally, with an emphasis on enlisting the support of and participation by coaches and athletic department staff.

Here is a link at the market place on the NCAA site with a more detailed description.

…and no, it does not involve any jock washing…

  • @JayHawkFanToo I appreciate the reply! My simpleton tendency seems to be confused on what exactly your inscription means. Will his position be able to develope Mason and Graham?

As @REHawk stated, no on court coaching. Does that mean he can’t help tutor the PGs during practice or he can’t help Self during in-game strategies?

  • @JhawkAlum

Yes, he can help them develop off the court. He cannot coach or assist on the court…much like Manning did when he started at KU and before he became an assistant coach. All the available coaching positions are filled now so there is no way for him to take one of those…unless Snacks decides to leave…wink, wink…

  • I was out of the loop for a few days… just saw this news and it’s fantastic! Aaron is perfect for the program - a bridge between Williams’ system and Self’s!

He will set a great tone and help the team have an attitude that will get them through adversity – especially the freshmen, but I think even Perry can learn from him. He’s a winner and should be a solid role model for every player.

Could have used him last year for sure.

  • @JhawkAlum As I understand the rule, yes, he can help tutor them…but ONLY off the court, even the practice court.
