Embiid

@Crimsonorblue22 More and more it looks like he made the right call to go early and get what money he could.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Man I hate to see this. I mean Joel had post moves that’d make Dr Ex Lax cringe…Nice kid too-at least he got the big payday but I’m wondering with that type of injury on a guy so large if there is much hope of it ever healing properly & playing at the games’ highest level. Several times before with other athletes it has simply just not happened… Remember the door is always open for you to return to Lawrence & complete a degree.
-
Well, now maybe Brett Brown won’t question Joel’s work ethic any longer.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 I saw that on ESPN also. Im no orthopaedic surgeon but it sounds as though the 76ers are doing their best to ensure the best possible out come for JoJo. It really sucks right now to see that he is going to have to sit on the bench even longer. But, hopefully once he is healed, he will make us proud.
Get well soon JoJo! RCJH!

@globaljaybird Sports science and medicine in general has advanced soooo much since the days when a player got this type of injury, it would put them down. Now, they caught JoJo’s injury early and have multiple teams of physicians working on him. I think he has a great chance to be able to play again. Its just going to take a lot longer than we had hoped. He may not get to play until next season, who knows at this point.
-
With Paul Pierce and the Wizards out, I’ve been rooting for the upstart Golden State Warriors in the playoffs…as fun as that’s been, I’m ready to get behind a player I really care about.
C’mon, Jojo, get better. I’m ready to be a Sixers fan.
-
@ajvan wiggins and Ben too! All nba Jayhawks!
-
Even though it sucks that he has to sit… it may be the best thing for the Sixers for other reasons. They may need another disastrous year to get one more high draft pick next year.
The worst case scenario is that JoJo comes back too soon and helps the team win some games, scraping them off the bottom of the league, then gets hurt. So then they lose their star big man AND future high draft spot.
I really want to see JoJo healed and have a real shot at an extended NBA career. That is the only way he will be able to earn his rightful high status around the league.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Right on, I’ll root for those guys too. Doubt BenMac has the star power that 'Biid will when healthy, though. Wiggy could lead his team to the playoffs and I hope he does so I can back a team with a dinosaur mascot.
Between Wiggs & Jojo, though, Jo was my favorite.
-
As much as medicine has advance, there still is no answer for genetics. Players like Greg Oden and Yao Ming had access to the best doctors in the world and still had their conditions end their careers; at least Yao had a few good years while Oden’s never really took off at all.
-
@JayHawkFanToo I’m thinking positive!!
-
@JayHawkFanToo Jurys still out on JoJo and his healing genetics. We all know this but, him healthy will equate to Olajuwon.
-
Me too.
-
I agree that the jury is still out. However, the fact that the has been injured a lot longer than he has been on the court would suggest that there might be something in his make up that makes him prone to injury; I surely hope not… Maybe his nutrition in his earlier years in Africa was not conductive to develop strong bones like we take it for granted here…who knows…

@JeffSkversky: Joel Embiid’s right foot will NOT require a second surgery an NBA Source close to the #Sixers center tells @6abc http://t.co/zS4Uh06xnD
