Andrew Wiggins New ROY Adidas shoes...
-
@JayHawkFanToo oh what to wear w/them?
-
Sorry. As much as I love AW these are far too loud and colorful for this old fogey…but then again I am not the demographic they are going after.
-
They are being referred as Wonder Bread and Mac and Cheese…
Definitely for a younger demographic…
-
My boys would not touch those! Maybe jr hi?
-
If wearing these is wrong then I don’t want to be right!
-
@approxinfinity Love the song reference- but I am still in old fogey mode with a thumbs down and like I said-they aren’t trying to sell these to my demographic.
Now my teenagers are a different story.

Whatever, it’s still cool. Also, this has got to catch Brown’s eye. He and Wiggins are fairly close in talent. Wiggins came in as a purely offensive player and left KU one of the best defensive players in the country.
I did read that Brown has a decision: Does he go where he’s one of many star players? OR does he go where he can be “The One.” Well, we may get an answer to these questions shortly, if we haven’t already done so.
BTW Jaylen, Wigs is the NBA ROY…He also went to KU and played under Bill Self. If you talk to Wiggins, Jaylen, he’ll tell you, Bill Self prepared him for this moment. But, if Beiline is your kind of coach, I believe you referred to him as a “offensive genius”? He’ll never teach you anything and prepare you for the NBA. They are mediocre at best Jaylen. But, you go where it’s best for you. Family is great to have around you, but at KU your development seems a bit more important, and you have a great chance of adding a conference championship to your resume, AND you will be on a team that will be in contention for a NC. If you go to Michigan, enjoy mediocrity.
-
@truehawk93 he also lucked into it a little bit with Parker going down and getting traded to Minnesota where he could shine. But I get your point. Kansas is very capable of preparing him for the league. Moreso than Michigan. Certainly after Michigan’s season last year.
-
I don’t know - the first thing I think of looking at these is Roy Williams having lunch at Burger King.
-
I’m expecting Adidas to update this shoe with some camo.
-
They make great shoes!
Love the Canadian maple leaf allusion; that ought to add some share in Ontario!
Wish they would use the same designer to do our uniforms!
-
If they are going to keep the maple leaf then they should add on a hockey puck. Run with the full allusion. Hmmm… guess those circles at the top could be pucks. They could verify that by adding a few shattered teeth around them.
-
You all have probably read they put in KU colors for his shoes, and they are already sold out. Wonder how much they are?
-
Thinking if he did each school and had 4 choices, I’d like them better.
-
The shoes are 130 bucks.
-
Question: is there a collector market for these ROY shoes? I would assume so, but I have always collected baseball gloves and never thought about collecting shoes.
Imagine leaving a pair of these Andrew ROYs in a box unworn and waiting till the end of Andrew’s inevitably monster career. How valuable might they be?
This could be like baseball gloves.
-
P.S.: I am a severe critic of adidas’ recent uniform designs, but these shoes are the best looking basketball shoes I have ever seen. Period.
-
@jaybate-1.0 I want them now! Autographed.
-
Is there a waiting list to put your name on? I want a pair
-
I want a pair too! My yard-work/fishing shoes are just about due to be replaced.
-

-
Where’s my checkbook? Oh wait… they don’t take checks! I mean cheicks.
-
They look somewhat different than the release pictures…knock-offs?
-
I think the shoes need a little more color. They just don’t stand out. LOL
-
@Crimsonorblue22 “kinda look like girl shoes”…the only thing missing is the “My Little Pony” logo…
-
@DoubleDD Seen a pair on Ebay. He wanted over $600.00 for a pair of size 10 1/2 For my 600:
Step 1: Go to Sketchers.
Step 2: Go straight to clearance rack. Find the dot color that offers up with the largest discount. Find shoes. Calculate price. Find 2nd pair. Find 3rd pair. Find 4th pair.
Step 3 :First pair 70% discount ( Final price 35 ) 2nd pair - half off ( Final price 20). Repeat for pairs 3 and 4.
Step 4 : Pay the man 110 for 4 pair of shoes. Take the other $490, and build a nice KU warddrobe to go with my snazzy new shoes. Or buy tickets to a game, or go get a Red Lobster Ultimate Feast about 14 times or so. I dunno, maybe I could skip buying shoes altogether, and lay that whole 600 that KU wins the national championship next spring, and have a shot at 12 big ones ( 20-1).
