As im sitting here watching kentucky

  • … Watched them yesterday too … I dont know a ton about the intricacies of basketball at this level, but they just seem to be able to score soooo easily … Inside, outside, it doesnt seem to matter… Sooo completely different from the bad ball style we ku fans have been watching for weeks… They play with almost an arrogant confidence… Cal doesnt seem to be doing anything other than rotate guys in… Their opponents play desperate and panicked and just seen to fall apart… It is frankly hard to envision who can beat them … wisconsin? KU? Can bad ball really work against level of size and talent ?? Thoughts anyone?

  • @Bosthawk you are right about the coaching part! I don’t see them getting beat. L and a! It would take an epic failure for them and a perfect game for opponents. I’m sick of hearing about them! Ruining the game!

  • @Bosthawk I sure would like for KU to sucker punch them right in the mouth that they won’t know what hit’em! Mason is the guy to do that & if we don’t panic. When we panic, we can’t think therefore can’t execute. That’s when our boys’ mental toughness comes in to bust open kentucky’s air full of confidence. Love for Self & boys to go at them!

  • I personally have a very hard time thinking that we could beat them in a rematch. I do not share the same sentiments with others on this site about wanting to be in the same bracket.

IMHO, I would much rather get to the Final Four before playing them instead of the elite eight.

  • @DinarHawk I’m all for somebody else beating them out!!

  • @Crimsonorblue22 Me too. The only problem is that the odds are just too low to count on somebody else beating them if we are in the same bracket. The last thing we want is being in their bracket.

  • @Bosthawk Why would you torture yourself like that, watching the evil empire Kensucky play? I mean, thats just…well, its wrong!

  • @Lulufulu Purdue, wisky on cbs

  • @Crimsonorblue22

I’m watching Wisconsin not turn the ball over once for the first 25 minutes of game time.

  • @Crimsonorblue22 Yep I was just watching that game. Purdue is takin it to Wisky, were up at the half

  • @HawksWin

Only if Mason penetrates and dishes the ball to other players, particularly outside shooters…provided our 3 guns are locked and loaded and working well, In the previous game he tried to penetrate and score and it did not work well at all; way too much capable height inside…oh how I miss TRob and Withey.

  • @Lulufulu Yeah… It’s rare that i have time to watch a lot of d1 games other than KU It does kind of suck to watch them… I am REALLY trying to meld in my mind the low scoring bad ball all-out war style that KU has been immeshed in for a month, and how it would look against KY Its like a different game

  • @Bosthawk Another thought. UK is playing second tier teams in a second tier conference. They would not look so hot against the best of the best in the ACC, Big10 or Big 12.

  • @Lulufulu ahhh did you forget that we played them, Texas too? I’m throwing up as I write this! If self could coach Texas against uk, there would be a chance. Or if we had what we thought we had w/Cliff!

  • @JayHawkFanToo I agree. But that’s before Mason learned to get opponent footers to foul him. If he plays smart - driving & penetrating and get fouls from KY footers, we got it made with FTs! Oh yes, you’re right about Greene, Selden & Obre dropping 3s - and that get us another NC! Of course, the stars have to align to win it all.

  • under 6 minutes left, still no Wisconsin turnovers… O, Kaminsky just turned it over.

  • Yep i just switched to wisconsin game… Havent really watched at all this year til now… They look scary good too… Yikes! Let us hope the tough big 12 this year has melded our mauraders into beasts that can find a way, any way, to bad ball our way into staying with a team like wisc God would i love a first round tourney blowout by ku… Its been so long since i could actually relax watching a game

  • @Bosthawk

Wisconsin has good and capable size inside that could give UK headaches.

  • Just wrapped up a win. Total fouls committed in the tourney 12, total turnovers in the tourney 10. Pretty impressive stuff.

@JayHawkFanToo And the Badgers are experienced too.

Lest anyone gets the wrong impression. I’m pumped for knocking out ISU in a few hours. We need some momentum going into the dance.

  • Others have probably said this, but…if KU gets a shot at revenge, it’ll take more than Bad Ball to check UK. Self will have to create something more volatile. Hot Shot Bad Ball or something.

  • @Bosthawk

I feel like “Bad Ball” (or “Billy Ball” ) is the right way to beat Kentucky. There is no way Kentucky would give us the trey shot if we play them again. They have size on the perimeter, too.

So we would have to win a game that would be a low scoring affair. I’ve watched lots of Kentucky basketball this year. Their offense has been improving. But they can easily go stale on offense, and they always get bailed out with their d. If we can play with the same emphasis… isn’t it possible both teams just play bad offense and good defense? So… if that be the case… won’t the outcome be determined by just a few points?

We didn’t play tough basketball the last time we played. We also didn’t play smart. Self told them to pound it inside, and we did, and they rejected everything. This time… perhaps Frank plays it a bit smarter and feeds it on his drive. This time we have Kelly, too. And maybe Wayne decides to show up.

We fell apart in that first game. We went totally soft. The key in a rematch is to not go soft, and just play tough for 40 minutes. We do that, then anything is possible. It worked for UCONN last year, and they didn’t have a legitimate 5 either.

Half of why Kentucky wins is that people see the height and skill and they wilt. Anyone who wilts has already lost.

  • @Crimsonorblue22 Yeah, we did play UK, got beat really badly too. It was the second game of the season. Just the second game. Bill’s Marauders hadn’t even learned to play BAD BALL yet.

  • @JayHawkFanToo Plus, they want revenge for last year against UK
