Ben McLemore Charged with Rape in Portland

  • Ben McLemore was arraigned on 4 charges today in Portland including first-degree rape and first-degree unlawful sexual penetration, both A-level felonies that carry a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison. The other two charges are two counts of second-degree sexual abuse, both C-level felonies that carry maximum penalties of five years in prison.

If convicted, McLemore could face up to 50 years in prison.

This one definitely caught me off guard because I’m not aware of McLemore having this kind of reputation.

  • @Texas-Hawk-10 I’m just sick about this. He gave a lot back to Lawrence and his hometown. He lost his brother to an overdose a few yrs ago. I know he married and had a kid, but that was a long time ago.

  • Damn, was not expecting this at all.

  • Guilty until proven Innocent. That’s how we are now. I hope this is wrong - very well could be a case of some woman trying to make a pile of money quickly.

Ben’s been arraigned already which means Ben’s already had his first court appearance where all of the charges against him were filed. The legal process, as we just saw with Arterio, usually doesn’t get this far in rape cases without the prosecutors believing they have enough evidence to get a conviction.

  • @Texas-Hawk-10 thanks. This morning was the first I’d heard of it. I’m at work and didn’t have time to check it thoroughly.

  • @Texas-Hawk-10 ya I posted this last night

  • Benny Mac is one of my favs, he had such a hard life. I know he didn’t want to leave but had to help his family. I hate this, for many reasons.

  • Ben McLemore was found guilty on 3 of the 4 charges against him. Guilty of 1st degree rape, 1st degree unlawful sexual penetration, and 2nd degree sexual abuse and not guilty of another 2nd degree sexual abuse charge.

According to Google, the punishments are between 8 year and 4 months (100 months) to 20 years each for the 1st degree rape and 1st degree sexual penetration convictions and the 2nd degree sexual abuse conviction carries a maximum 5 year sentence.

Unfortunately, it looks like Ben is in deep shit right now looking at anywhere between 8+ years to 45 years in prison.

We’ll see what happens with the appeals here because Ben’s defense was centered around both him and the girl being too drunk to consent to anything.

  • I guess I just don’t understand, the guy has just basically thrown his life away,—WHY ? I mean yes I know, but i mean I just don’t get it , throwning your life away for sex. I mean if everything was what it was then he will be where he belongs but, clearly just not thinking.

Alcohol will get you in trouble for sure. Wasn’t he still playing in the League ? Just a sad situation

  • @SlimShaddy54 besides that - why forcibly? I remember thinking he’s a pretty good looking guy, got a little fame and money. I have to believe thar the ladies would have been attracted to him. He’s a dumbass. A criminal dumbass.

Alcohol makes people do stupid stuff. I also don’t have a hard time believing both he and the girl were too drunk to consent to anything since this happened at a house party of a teammate.

  • @Texas-Hawk-10 believe be, brother, I’m familiar with alcohol and it’s consequences. I’ve woken up under a lot of strange toilets in the past. I’ve been in bar fights because someone didn’t like Black Sabbath (gasp). But I never raped anyone.
