As usual, our world class organization’s story line has moved to the forefront of the national conversation on college basketball. 3-0…think it, know it, love it… http://espn.go.com/blog/collegebasketballnation/post/_/id/103506/big-12-title-chase-just-keeps-getting-better

@KUSTEVE Thanks, Steve. That article paints a dandy picture of the Big 12 and Kansas Basketball.
-
@REHawk I’m very proud we take pride in our conference championships! We are getting the recognition we deserve-finally! The next 3 games can get us going for the tourneys! Game day, AFH, title on the line, if we can’t get up for that…
-
Ah yes, the Big 12, where the unexpected is the expected. Even KU winning the Title this season was unexpected and now, well… expected.
-
@JayHawkFanToo I expected you to say that.
-
Of course, it was not unexpected to expect you to say that you expected me to say that…I think…:)
-
@JayHawkFanToo Thank you!

The Big 12 this season is reminding me of some of the old ACC seasons back in Dean’s day, and the Big Ten intermittently when they used to get 4-6 teams capable of beating each other. Its hairy and unpredictable, and results in lower seeding for all that make it to the dance, but it toughens them up and they usually do better in the Madness. Fingers crossed.

@JayHawkFanToo Some of your responses are direct thoughts I have. How did you get so damn smart?
-
I watch re-runs of the Beverly Hillbillies?
-
@JayHawkFanToo He shoots…HE SCORES!!! Good one…
-
@KUSTEVE you two are scaring me!!!
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Brilliance can be scary at times…<smirk>
-
@KUSTEVE yes, especially you 2!

This may be the best league play I’ve ever seen around these parts. We can all harp about Self or a player or this or that… but none of us can say we didn’t get our money’s worth out of the B12 this year. As @JayHawkFanToo said… it’s the expected and unexpected, both expected and unexpected. If I take it to another level it will be in the 4th dimension.
So far, for us, the real unexpected game was KSU away. We usually own them in their own house.
ISU fans must all have the stomach flu today. I know if I was one of their fans, that is how I would feel. I recall back just a week or two ago when I replied to their entire fan base by instructing them to stop worrying about ever beating us in our house, just focus on games like TT. Guess I should have extended that into their need to focus at home, too.
Even though we stand an excellent chance of winning out in AFH this year… does it really feel like “the B12 conference championship goes through Lawrence?”
We aren’t even done playing and we have dropped 4 games away… enough for other teams to win our conference or tie and without having to win in Lawrence.
For us… we’ve been down this championship path so many times before that we know we just have to win the games we are supposed to win, and let nature take it’s course with the rest of the league.
So far, really just our loss at KSU was unexpected. If we had won there, we would now own a 2 game lead with 3 games left.
I’m already going to start planting this seed now. Next year, we better have a damn good team, because ISU is going to be fierce!

Who? Us? We are just two wild and crazy guys…
-
We’re going to be “loaded for bear” next year. Frank/Devonte at the point…Wayne/Greene/SVI at the 2/3 …Perry/ Cliff/Bragg/Jamari/Landen at the 4/5…that’s talent, experience, and depth, along with a slew of summer games to finetune this crew. We add a big body or two- perhaps throw in a combo guard like Newman, and we’re locking up a 1 seed halfway through conference next year.
