Little Help
-
My son and I are going to the home opener (football) on September 1st. I am not familiar with Lawrence at all and was wondering if anyone could tell me specifics about where to park. I don’t care if it costs to park - I just don’t know where to go. It’s been about 5 years since my last game and I wound up parking at Wal-Mart and taking an Uber. I’d prefer to do something different this time. I am geographically challenged - you can’t be too specific. Thank you very much!

Couple questions just to recommend the best option. Are you coming for just the game or want to spend some time in town before or after? Is mobility an issue for anyone?
-
@FarmerJayhawk Probably just for the game, so I was thinking about getting there around 5:00 pm. We’re both mobile, but that’s very thoughtful of you to think of that.

@nuleafjhawk sounds good. So you really have three different options. For some reason the site isn’t allowing me to upload screenshots (for @approxinfinity: “Imgur is over capacity”) but I hope they show up eventually.
Option 1 is to park on the street north of the stadium below 9th and between Arkansas and Mississippi Sts. Pro: it’s free and an easy walk. Con: you aren’t guaranteed a spot.
Option 2: park in a garage downtown and take the shuttle to the stadium. The route goes to 8th and Vermont and 6th and New Hampshire. Pro: there are almost always spots and parking is free, though the shuttle is $1 each way. Con: it’s a bus ride so idk how crowded it’ll be.
Option 3: the Allen Fieldhouse garage. Pro: high likelihood of getting a spot and the walk is really nice. Con: it’s $30 and you’re not guaranteed a spot.
Hopefully that at least gives you an idea. You should be fine on getting a spot if you’re there at 5ish.

@FarmerJayhawk Thank you so much! That is fantastic. I really appreciate the effort you put into this.

@nuleafjhawk any time! Hopefully it all works out for you and your son. Enjoy the game!

@FarmerJayhawk looks like it worked, but I was wondering if imgur was going to start to suck and what my options are for migrating to a different free image host/share. Will keep eye on it, and look at what they let me do
-
@approxinfinity yeah I had to use another hosting site unfortunately

@FarmerJayhawk gotcha. Thanks for letting me know.
