"Baylor just 20 minutes away from their first victory in Allen Fieldhouse..."
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Hope his boys can pull it off.
-
@JayHawkFanToo Good luck with that. I’m wondering if Kenwrong gave Jesse a kenwrong decoder ring to make sense of his rankings. I visualize Jesse as Ralphie in the movie " A Christmas Story", sitting on the throne, trying to break the “code”.
-
@JayHawkFanToo yeah!!! I wonder, they will find something! Did u watch the show on self? I have it saved, it looked good!
-
ROTFLMAO!!!
-
I recorded it, Now I need to figure out a way to get the video from the cable box to my computer for editing and getting clips.
-
“That was one of the worst flops from Selden. And I’ve seen some pretty bad ones from him”
-
@JhawkAlum oh man that made me mad!!!
-
@Crimsonorblue22 That was a great show. World class guy - the best of the best in his prime- it will give you shivers. Our coach is truly a humble man, a good man, and we’re very, very lucky to have him.
-
@KUSTEVE I got his back every time!
-
I only get to Lawrence now and then. Where is the restaurant with the great wings?
-
@Hawk8086 Jeffersons, but there was a bad fire a couple of months ago. Bad! I know someone tweeted Embiid would be bummed not to go there this weekend.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Assuming they re-open…where is it located? Mass St?
-
Yes, maybe 7 and mass?? Help? Just ate there in dec. kids like it!
-
@Hawk8086 fun place
-
@Crimsonorblue22 He might know quite a bit but he doesn’t know nearly as much as he thinks he does. There is a reason why is radio show are way down in numbers. Everyone else is sick of him too!
-
Most of us do. I don’t get why some posters have the need to criticize and second guess everything he does, even with all the success he has had…do they really thing they know more than Coach Self? Wouldn’t that be the epitome of arrogance…and… insecurity?
-
Looking at the box score…our only production was from Perry, Wayne, KO, with Lucas chipping in 9. Hardly anyone else scored much…we’re usually a little more balanced. But…whatever it takes. I also noted that Baylor had a guy with 38 mins. and 3 with 34. We only had 1 guy with 34. That had to have helped us down the stretch. Lucas was great. He was what we needed inside. Got some boards, got to the line. He was key.
-
Even a better day to see Fran just do that!
-
No question Lucas contributed big today.
-
@Hawk8086 finals boards?
-
-
-
@JayHawkFanToo to lazy to look, did we out board them! Free throws! Look how many Selden shot? Wayne got the message!!!
-
Edited my post with stats for both teams…:)
-
@JayHawkFanToo I have to add ours?
-
@JayHawkFanToo 32 us 33 them? I’m sure we out boarded them 2nd half
-
@Crimsonorblue22 we win 32-30. we were 24 for 29 from the line…smokin’…
-
Fixed it again…
-
@JayHawkFanToo Hmmm…CBS has Faylor with 30 boards. I like CBS version better…<smirk>
-
Is that image a still from a soon to be released major motion picture called “Spore Man”?
-
@JayHawkFanToo thx! Looks like our 2 % went up! I hope I never hear fools gold again! We need to have both!!
-
-
No question that the inside (non 3-point) scoring saved the day.
-
@JayHawkFanToo Baylor had 3 guys w/lots of boards!
-
They are a good rebounding team, so I guess we did well to hang with them.
-
@jaybate-1.0 it’s under
You all were right, Cliff is a starter.
-
Baylor only played 8 players, one played just a few seconds when Medford fouled out… 6 players used up 188 of the 200 minutes or 94% or available playing time.; that is one short bench…
-
In answer to the questions about whom to root for…My philosophy is to root for ISU since they are the home team…if they win on the road that gives them an edge…but they may not lose any more games and we still get WVU at home. Either way, I’m hoping for an exhausting triple over time game. I’m not too proud to take any advantage we can get for Monday’s game.
-
I see “journeyman NBA player” written all over Rico.
-
I liked the game Landen Lucas put up.
When all else fails, go with the guy who has post fundamentals.
-
@Hawk8086 you are so wise! I go w/heart! Really dislike ISU!!
-
@drgnslayr Yep. But it beats “journeyman D League player” or “journeyman European player” Like they used to say about Fred Patek of the Royas being the shortest player in the majors…better than the shortest player in the minors.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Looks like that triple OT will not happen.
-
@drgnslayr like our man, Tarik Black!
-
@Hawk8086 maybe ISU will shoot and miss their way back out of it!!

Lucas seemed to be a pretty good match up inside
I’ve definitely changed my mind about Lucas. Used to cringe when he got the ball and now I’m happy to see him come in. Moving that big body better under the basket, 5 for 5 at the line and even a semi-flop to draw the third foul on Rico which he chuckled about.
Lot’s of guys stepping up Oubre looked smooth, Ellis played strong all game, and Selden started to penetrate more finally. I thought Frank looked kind of beat up again, some bad shot selections, missed FTs and not finding guys open, but offset by some bulldog hustle as usual.
Self getting lots of exposure and love today was nice too.
All in all, nice game with a scrappy, but reliable Faylor.
-
Selden made a critical 3 to bring KU within 6 and Oubre followed with another 3 to make it a 3 point game; IMHO, that was the turning point of the game.
-
He has a sweet three that’s been falling with regularity lately and really helping us in tight spots like the one you mention. AND he got to the hoop a few times and drew some contact a few other times which hasn’t been quite as regular as that long stroke has been. Great game from him and hope he keeps it up!
-
Lately, Selden has been hitting 3s at the most opportune times; hopefully he continues that streak…
-
@Jyhwk_InTigrtwn Frank did have 8 assists! He just had an off shooting day. He made 2 throws at the end, I think. Graham has not been shooting very well either. What’s nice about this team, we usually have somebody hot. Takes awhile to find it sometimes, like Lucas today.
