Lubbockians/Lubbockers/Lubbocksters/Lubbockwegians must have a tough life living out there in the middle of nowhere. Good work as usual!
-
was looking things over about Tech this year - have a bunch of 6’7 and around there. One 7 footer but really nothing to speak of , shoot 35.5 from the 3 compared to us shooting 39.9 - – - only shoot 67.5 % free throw to - - our 70.1 % - -we are right at 6 rebounds plus better then they are on the boards - -43.7 compared to 37.9. -turnovers are about equal.
Did see stats that they are # 1 in the conference in defense and only allowing 51.6 points per - -Ku is ranked 5th - -they go about 8 deep
If we just go in and play smart should be a good game , won’t have to face a full house anyways, got to get after it. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Lubbock sucks! One of the worst days of my college life was spent in that God-forsaken town and I never set foot near that place again.
Made a road trip, once upon a time, to cheer on my football team against the Red Raiders. Not only did we get obliterated, but I ripped my new shirt on the chain link fence that surrounds the stadium. After the game, I returned to my car only to realize I had locked my keys in it. Because of game traffic, it was about 4 or 5 hours before anyone would come out to assist. After finally getting that settled sometime toward sundown, I stopped at the nearby convenience mart to fill up with gas. Turns out the RV that filled up before me didn’t pay and drove off. I only found out they hadn’t paid when I went in to settle my bill and was accused of stealing gas. Said I owed them almost $200 for my tank and the other tank I had already pumped. After some convincing, I was finally was able to get them to back off the accusation, pay for my stuff and head back home.
Just a miserable time from start to finish. Will never go back.

@tis4tim omgosh!
-
@tis4tim hmm, sounds a bit self inflicted?
-
Locking the keys in the car is definitely on me, but the rest is clearly everybody else’s fault!

Yeah I always figured it was the kind of place all those things happened

@tis4tim I would like for you to elaborate on ripping your shirt on the chain link fence. Wouldn’t it have been easier to just buy a ticket?
-
@nuleafjhawk look at him?

Ha ha! I brushed up against the fence exiting the stadium among a mob of people and snagged it on one of the barbs. Honestly, I’m sort of surprised I can remember the event so well after all these years. Lubbock really made an impression on me … and my shirt.
BTW, apologies to Bucketeers who happen to be from Lubbock. I’m not trying to disparage the place. I’m sure it’s a lovely town with lovely people. I just wish I would have experienced either one while I was there.

@tis4tim I know exactly one person from Lubbock, they don’t speak well of growing up there.
-
@tis4tim I’ve heard that happiness is Lubbock, Tx in your rearview mirror…
-
@tis4tim Lol - I tore up a few shirts crawling under chain link fence to see the local high school football team when I was a misguided youth. Last year.

I had not heard that. But I can confirm it.

Hmmm. Small sample size, but I trust your friend is very bright. Confirmation bias be damned!
