WTF??? It says KState up above Lawson

I think it says Kansas stats

  • @dylans yeah! I’m blind

  • We out rebounded them by 10 - - that’s a good job after the way they pounded Tech on the boards

  • @Crimsonorblue22 took me a bit lol

  • And paranoid

  • @dylans I just realized that. Trying to read on my crappy phone.

Grimes REALLY got after it on the boards tonight. Hope he will be okay.

  • @BShark cramp?

  • @dylans Appears to have been yeah.

I just hope he gives full effort like that again, and he isn’t worried about getting hurt.

  • Think we end up with Higgins tomorrow?

  • I think there is a good chance we can get a 3 seed and have a chance to play in KC again if we can pull it off tomorrow. Everyone outside of KU fans will cry but I think you have to reward not only the best SOS but the most quad 1 wins.

  • @RockChalkinTexas Earlier today the schedule at http://www.big12sports.com listed WVU vs Texas for tonight’s game.

    That wasn’t just tired eyes.

  • Hopefully Ochai’s 9 in the second half gives him some confidence back. Moore shooting 28% from the floor and 26% from 3 this season. I honestly thought he’d start early in the year over Dot but man for a guy was supposed to be a scorer thats disappointing.

If KU moved to the 3 line, they’d have to jump both Texas Tech and Houston to stay in KC. It might be more advantageous to KU to be the top 4 seed so they could be in KC that way.

  • @Bwag Those 8 rebounds by Grimes are the most important stat of the night. Great to see.

  • @HighEliteMajor Grimes also had 4 assists and 4 steals. Great all around.

  • @tundrahok Exactly - the activity we were all wanting. Man, he was feeling it at the end of the first half. After hitting a couple threes he was begging for the ball, but we went inside. That was right before he hit the long three to end the half. I sure hope we have him next season.

  • @HighEliteMajor I think we will see him next year. I think he and Coach Self have a good relationship. After he came out with that cramp, did you see Coach Self come over and say something to him that made him laugh?

Grimes has strong family support, and the wise move for his long-term future would be to stay another year to play under the tutelage of a hall-of-fame coach.

Remember Svi’s first couple of years? Everybody described what a sweet stroke he had, and how he nailed shots from outside in practice with a high percentage. But we rarely saw that in games. Then he matured, got tough and confident, and was fantastic by his senior year.

Grimes is sort of like that, but hopefully we’re starting to see the toughness and confidence already. We probably won’t get him for 4 years (Svi was what, 16 when he came to KU?), but I bet he’ll be back next year. And I bet he’ll be good.

  • @HighEliteMajor He still has a ton of work to do in a very very short amount of time if he’s not coming back. I haven’t seen him projected to get picked in a few months.

YA I think this is the 1st time all season I saw him getting after rebounds like he did last night all year - -hope he stays like that the rest of the eyar. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

I was thinking the same thing about Oahai’s slump last night. Maybe just enough in the 2nd half to let him see the ball going through the hole again, we could sure use him - I think he might be coming. - - Could you imagine if we could get him and Grimes both going again and the improvement of McCormack Dave no double digits last night but still got 8 rebounds - - - -have a healthy Marcus for defensive purposes - -would for sure help out in the coming days. - -ROCK CHALK LL DAY LONG BABY

Now it says today’s game is Big 12 vs. Iowa State. Somebody at Big 12 sports seems to have a problem with KU.

  • Our streak may have ended this year, but win tonight and the streak of winning regular season or conference tourney streak continues!

  • Can’t rewrite history but if Self had this core group to develop from the start of the season I can only imagine. Undeniably less wins early but this team is congealing AND having fun…seeing the return of the chest bump last night was icing on the cake.

  • Just doing some thinking this morning - -ya I know that can be very dangerous for me - - - - however sitting here thinking - -MAN we as ( KU fans ) - Are sooooo spoiled.

I mean let think about this - - after all that has happened this year - - -Doke out for the season - – -Silvio being ruled ineligible - - -Vick leaving - - - -Garrett out for some time - - - and yet to think we were still in this Conference race in the last week , as bad of a year we had - to think we were still RIGHT there in the final week – One game more likely then not cost us at least a share of the Conference Championship - - West Virginia.

For sure ( KU ) fans are spoiled beyond belief - -some snifflers - - some others needing to change their last name to Whiner - -I mean if you stop and think about it - here we sit at 25-8 - the 14th straight year with at least 25 wins - - - like they were saying there are many teams always happy to have 20 wins a season - -and here we are constantly having a good shot aiming at 30.

Yet here we are - 25 - -8 - -and at the worst we end up 25-10 - more realistically really good chance we looking at 27 & 10. - but yet we’ll have people saying what a disappointing season - -this was -this season was a failure - - and I’ll say WHAT THE HELL - -how many teams - - schools would LOVE to have that king of Season? – Spoiled - -no other way to say it. – -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

    I like being spoiled.

  • And as for the Fabulous Mr. Grimes… He looked more engaged last night. Happy to see that. The day I see him even attempt to dunk on one of his weak ass drives to the hole…he’ll have turned the corner.

  • @tundrahok you got me with the Grimes - Svi progression comp. Never occurred to me. Great thought!

  • @approxinfinity I suspect they don’t have McDonald’s All-Ukrainians, but Svi also came in with quite a bit of hype, for a foreign kid. We weren’t sure about him for a while, but he turned out pretty well. I’m still optimistic for Grimes.
