After Losing To Nicholls By Double Digits

How long before Beaty gets fired?

I honestly think that Nicholls State could be our toughest non conference game. They came close to beating 2 SEC teams in Georgia and Texas A&M the last 2 seasons. Kansas has got to come out ready to play and not pull a South Dakota State and show up at halftime.

@jayballer73 I legitimately expect Nicholls to win. Might not be by double digits though. Beaty is staggeringly inept.

Well that’s not exactly going out on a limb by any means. Yet I could really go out and Say I don’t think Beaty will get fired during this season. - -End of Season possibly --very probably BUT something tells me Long is going to ride him out this year. We will see. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

KU’s not going to be good, but it seems like there’s a different feeling amongst the players than there has been the past few years. Players have been pinpointing specific reasons why instead if just broad generalizations of getting better.
My biggest reason for optimism is that KU finally has an OLine that will look like a B12 OLine when they take the field. There’s finally a lot of upperclassmen at that position group.
I’m not going out an predicting a bowl game or even that Beaty will do enough to save his job, but I can see 2-3 wins out if this group this year.
I still expect the defense to be its usual horrible self despite the upgraded talent. I see 3 NFL caliber players on the defense right now in Daniel Wise, Joe Dineen, and Mike Lee. If someone other than Bowen were calling the shots on defense, I’d actually go out and say a bowl game was possible this year.
As is, I think this team gets 2-3 wins, looks good in a couple of other games, Beaty and Bowen are gone, and KU starts fresh in 2019 with a solid core of players to develop.

@Texas-Hawk-10 I get that same feel. Time will tell the O- line is going to be so critical but as you say they are bigger and older , we shall see it’s fine to be big but you have to have the development to go along with it - I just have a weird feeling we might be a little better then people think

If at the break after the 6th game KU is not at least 2-4 and preferably 3-3, Beaty will likely be gone at that point and since the last 6 games will be loses, he will be gone at the end of the year any way. The offense might score point but I don’t see the defense as being any good. Short of a miracle, I just don’t see how Beaty survives.
