Done deal?

  • @wissox what is predictable now is unpredictability with this team. It is predictable that KU will lose at home to either OSU or TCU over the next two games. That would seem to fit with this team. If they win the next two, that seems to demonstrate that we’re moving to a different place. We would then have a five game gauntlet then that will really determine our fate.

We go to Baylor and ISU, then home vs. OU and WVU, and then to TT.

Winning the next two gives us some leeway to lose 2 of those 5.

Our apparent underperforming at home is the story of this season really, to this point.

When I look at the schedule, that’s what catches my eye the most. TT and OU are one game back and play each other at TT. So one will go to four losses. TT has other games at TCU, at KSU, at WVU and at home vs. KU. OU has other games at Texas, at KU, home vs. WVU, and home vs. KSU.

I think OU is best positioned to challenge KU right now. I think we want TT to win that game because TT has really three games that are legitimate possible losses on the road.

  • I do feel pretty good about winning at least a share which is what the percent is for.

  • @dylans Whoa, Nelly! Lets win today, and worry about that in a month…

  • One game at time friends, I believe after the TT loss they had us at less than 40% chance to win the league. We have built this slim lead half way thru, the last half we could give back rather quickly if we aren’t focused and playin well. I do agree with @HighEliteMajor if we can win these next 2 at home, I think we will be 2 games up on just about everyone heading down the stretch.

  • The done deal is looking less done right now.

  • We ain’t winning this conference, no way been saying all year we are just to lazy to compete for rebounds. OSU has several offensive rebound without hawks anywhere near them. Lazy that’s the only word and it’s probably to nice for these guys.

  • @kjayhawks The only way to win the B12 is for everyone else to continue losing. KU does not have the horses or the want to doing it on their own merits. I thought I was watching our Juco team for most of this game.

  • @Big-Clyde52 Horses had nothing to do with today, we just didn’t play hard period. Anyone that watched that game knows we made very little effort today. No ifs, ands or buts.

  • Let down game. I saw this coming. And this is why I called this league (mediocre) average. Top team predictably loses at home to a bottom feeder

Duke just lost to St. John’s that is 0-11 in the Big East and 11-13 overall, what do you call the ACC?

  • @kjayhawks You are correct. But I am not giving in or up. We still have our destiny in front of us. No worse than tied for first going into next week. We have got to win in the PHOG!!!. Go to TTech and win and take care of the rest of the bottom teams. It can be done. Hopefully these guys do not want to be the team to stop the streak. They have a prize in front of them that would live forever, by passing the almighty UCLA record. That alone should be enough incentive. LETS GO HAWKS!!!

  • This loss today now really highlights that giveaway game at Norman. Doke’s free throw debacle has been driven home to bite us in the butt. If the guys continue to play softly like they did in the first half today, hopes for a league title will be a real stretcheroo.

  • Thanks

  • Kentucky loses to MU…not a good day to be a blue blood…

  • Honestly I think OU ends up winning the B12 at this point. Trae Young is not only getting the hype but every foul call that a person could buy. I’m watching the Texas ve OU game now as I did them vs Baylor. I stopped counting at 10 fouls that weren’t fouls that went his way. Surprisingly none were shooting fouls in the first half here, dude is averaging over 12 foul shots per game in conference. The media is pushing hard for them to win it, it looks like Trae called his shot saying he would beat us and win the conference.

  • @kjayhawks nah, OU won’t win this Conference. They are going to lose to WVU and then Kansas at home. I’m starting to think the league will come down to being able to beat Tech on the road and hold serve vs OU & WVU at home. If not, Tech will likely win this thing. Just my opinion, of course.

  • @Blown we won’t beat TT, WVU or OU IMO all will be blowout loses for us.

  • @kjayhawks OU was lucky to win against KU earlier, they aren’t blowing out Kansas. WVU also hasn’t won a road game in over a month. @Tech, @ISU, and @OSU are the three key games for KU. Go 2-1 in those 3 and hold serve at home the rest of the way and KU finishes 14-4 and at least a share of the Big 12.

  • @Texas-Hawk-10 idk if you are blind or haven’t watched us play at home I have a ten times better chance to win the power ball than we do to hold serve at home.

I have been thinking the same thing this afternoon…that Tech game could end up being the deciding factor.

  • Muhaha looks like my plan is working, talk up OU then they lose.

  • @kjayhawks Yes…thank you Horns!

  • @Hawk8086 better to think of it that way than the OU @ Norman being the deciding factor. That is one that should have never happened.

  • @Blown that’s what’s disheartening at this point, if we finished in Norman and showed up in the first today we would be in great absolutely great shape.

Ain’t happening this year. ls Trae coming back next year to halt our streak?

  • Looks like there might be another pretty decent PG in the Big 12. - Matt Coleman, guess you could say he out played Trae in this one.

Trae - -7-22 - Matt 8-13 - - Trae 2-14 from the 3 - - Matt 2-5 , Trae had a lot of assists. - At the end of the game crucial time of game - -Trae hurt Oklahoma - -jacking up one of those questionable three’s , then the other just dribbling the ball off a foot. - -well this saves us to a point. - - -Instead of 3 way tie - -it’s us and Texas Tech.

We have to get things straightened out - - where the hell is our defense/rebounding. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • Texas a dark horse tourney candidate? Coleman is pretty explosive.

I have watched KU at home. I’ve also watched WVU suck away from Morgantown for a month and OU not win a road game since December. I know what KU has done, I also kniw what the rest of the Big 12 is doing as well.

If KU wins in Lubbock, they’ll win the league outright, if they lose in Lubbock, KU shares with Tech.

  • @betterfireE Maybe. I am now worried about the Texas game in AFH…improvement overall and Bamba…Heck, who am I kidding? We are worried about all the remaining games…home or away!

  • @Texas-Hawk-10 Tech plays at KSU, Bay, OSU, WV. I believe they could lose 2 of those. They host TCU, KU, OU, ISU. We have got to win there and maybe OU beating them also. The key is for us to have enough pride to hold serve in our house. If that happens, we could win #14.

  • @Texas-Hawk-10 That prediction is as good as any. But this is so crazy…we just lost what, in theory, was the easiest game in the last half of our schedule. It is difficult to figure out what might happen…it’s like logic does not apply here.
