Jo, Jo is at it again

  • Just a marvel to watch. - - Philly/Knicks. - -Jo Jo 25 points - - - 16 rebounds - -3 blocks. - -The Process has an attitude - -love it.

Thing is , I am really afraid poor ol Jo, Jo when it is all said and done - - I’m afraid his back is going to win out and force him out of the game. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • @jayballer54

But back or no back, he is putting the NBA on notice that it has been fooling itself with the players it has been claiming were post men in recent years.

For any youngsters out there, Embiid is showing how a REAL post man plays and how he changes the game and all opponents.

Embiid is a man playing against boy post men.

Until the game begins to develop bigs again, Embiid will have the game to himself the same way George Mikan did.

Big men change every dynamic of the game.

His back may stop him one day, but until then he’s is going to mop up the pencil necks.

And it’s a good thing for the NBA. It’s been embarrassing what happened to the L the last 5 years or so. It’s been like watching “value engineered” basketball being sold by the hype machine as the real thing.

  • @jaybate-1.0 but to be fair - -Kanter who was playing against Jo, Jo had a 30 point 20 rebound night also - so Jo, Jo not toying with all - BUT still a beast

  • @whipperboy73

Was Joel matched with Kanter? If yes, then Joel doesn’t have enough defensive pride yet.

  • @whipperboy73 I hear your concern for Joel. I hope youre wrong. The 76ers are going to be very very careful with their young super stud Center.

ya I think he was - -at least part of the time he was I know. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • As good as Embiid is (when healthy) there are other proven players as good or better in the NBA at his position; anyone that says otherwise obviously does not watch the NBA enough to know better. Like @whipperboy73 mentioned in the Christmas Day game, Kanter played equally as well or better than Joel.

The issue with Embiid has been and will continue to be his health until he proves beyond a doubt he can play entire games day in and day out. This season he has played the most games of his very young career but has played in only 25 of the 33 games the Sixers have played; I understand that he is in quite a bit of pain in between games and receiving constant physical therapy. Hopefully his career will not be cut short like the one of another great promising player named Yao Ming.

  • @JayHawkFanToo Since I’m an ignoramus when comes to the NBA, who are the better centers in the NBA compared to Embiid? Anthony Davis and who else?

Uh, no your not guy , don’t feel alone that’s for sure. I too don’t really know either as I don’t really follow that close myself. I just follow Jo, Jo and then also other KU players you know like Frank and such. - As far as a daily thing I just don’t.

I hardly ever watch a game especially in the regular season , now come the playoffs I’ll watch more - - it’s just my personal feelings that’s during the regular season seems to me they don’t even try to play legit D - -I know that’s probably not the case but that’s just the way I’ve felt.

Again as far as far as the better Centers are - -hell I can’t even tell you who any of the centers are little lone the better ones are, so don’t feel alone lol - - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • A better center with less minutes played in the NBA than JoJo hasn’t happened since…Wilt? Embiid is practically a rookie. Dude is dominant I just hope he can stay healthy so we can all see what he can do!

  • I’d say centers on Embiid’s level are Cousins and Porzingis. Cousins averages 26 and 12. Porzingis averages 25 and 7, but is a better shooter and ball handler. Embiid averages 24 and 11, so very similar to Cousins in a shade less minutes. Embiid’s numbers are just a shade better than Cousins on a per 36 basis, but Cousins is slightly more efficient because he is a better three point shooter by both percentage and volume (Cousins has made more threes than Embiid has taken, and at a higher percentage). I’d say those two are basically a push, honestly, with the slight edge to Cousins based on durability and efficiency. Even the advanced stats agree its a push - Embiid and Cousins both have a 23.6 PER!

  • @HighEliteMajor

What @justanotherfan said and I would also add Marc Gasol, the Unibrow, Kevin Love,Jokic, Gobert and Karl Anthony-Towns right of the top of my head, although some are considered PF/C. I don’t disagree that Embiid is a very good player but before we anoint him as great we need to see more than 25 games.

  • @justanotherfan Put Kanter in there the last two games.

  • @JayHawkFanToo I’d put Embiid ahead of all those you have listed. If Boogie and Unibrow were on different teams, you might have a case for either one of those guys. They tend to cancel each other out being on the same team. Embiid is much better defensively than either one of those guys, imo. Now, my disclaimer is Embiid is the best…WHEN HE PLAYS. So, overall, you could rank all those guys you listed but Gobert and Jokic ahead of him, but on a game by game basis, there is no one in the NBA better than Embiid.

Man how could I not know Gasol & Towns - - - I feel so , so, so - - I dunno - -just so lol - - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • @KUSTEVE

Kanter has talent, but he has never been consistent. He has a stretch like this every year. He averages 14 and 10 for the year, but is at 17 and 11 over the last 5 games. He’s 11 and 7 for his career.

If he were consistent with where he’s been the last week, he would be a near all star.

  • @justanotherfan His last 2 games, he’s made me $$$$$.

  • @KUSTEVE

It is hard to tell anymore who is a Center or PF. Some players that are listed as Centers can go outside and hit the 3 so they are really more Stretch PFs than Centers. Gobert and Jokic are really good.

Boy isn’t that the truth. - -Could you of imagined , Ol Wilt trying to go to 3 pt line and shooting the three lol? times have changed in the game - -that’s for sure ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • @whipperboy73

Wilt would have jumped from the 3 point line and dunked the ball. 😄
