Cool story, and what a great kid. He’s having a very solid rookie year, except for when Shaq took him under his wing for the dunk contest and made the whole thing about himself. Even with the cringe-worthy theatrics, he would have made the finals in a traditional dunk contest, and had a chance to win, but the league decided that they needed to make the rules as confusing as possible to suck all the fun out of it. They just handed the trophy to John Wall, while all the viewers looked at each other and said “wait, that’s it?” Anyway, I hope he continues to grow and eventually becomes a franchise player.
