I’ve had some hardships over the past year and life can be a complicated mess but everyone has their ups and downs.
I got a big promotion a year ago but the benefits haven’t outweighed the negatives so I’m at a crossroads. It has brought me financial stability in these hard times though which I’m thankful for but I know I’m going to have to make a decision one way or the other at some point.
My son has become fully invested in baseball this year and the journey still continues. He went from Little League to All Stars to now travel ball and will pitch in his first 9U kid pitch game tomorrow so that’s very exciting. I’m a nervous wreck but can’t wait to see him perform. We have lived at the baseball field since April, and it’s been an honor to watch him grow as a person and player. I don’t think we’ll know what to do with ourselves when the travel season ends next month but basketball is next up for him and he’s excited for that. Hopefully this year I can get him into watching some KU games with me as he was curious at times last season.
With work - similarly I got a promotion about a year ago. Then immediately we were (are) and industry current administration is going after. Caused a ton of stress. Went to therapy to help me understand why I was hating work so much. It very much helped keep things in perspective. Just a thought if you haven’t tried it first before leaving.
Congrats on the baseball! Good luck to him pitching! I miss playing baseball at that age more than any other competitive sports I played.
My 6 year old came home singing this, which he picked up at school. I guess theres a clapping game that goes with it. I enjoyed the regional variations in the reddit thread.

I wonder if you guys have encountered any similar spoken word things (or other things) that varied greatly by region?
@wissoxfan83 Today I saw on Espn that he isnt totally sure that he will hang it up after this season. Can’t blame the guy for being the slightest bit indecisive about this one. Its a huge decision. He is a great coach. A genuine good guy in the sport with too many slime balls in it. He isnt that old. Heck, our own LB has nearly 10 years on him. What ever he decides to do with his life at this point is his decision and all the so called professional analysts out there can only speculate about what he will do.
@Crimsonorblue22 I’d be more inclined to think Zobrist will be the guy to give an infielder an occasional day off, or maybe Rios in rf especially vs right hand pitching. Zobrist carries big lumber & our pitching is not near as stable as last year. We’re already missing Finnegan comin outta the pen. Ventura is a head case, Hererra has been wild, Holland can’t get the ball down in the strike zone, & Davis is nursing back spasms like is Chris Young. Unfortunately our pitching woes is why we gave up so much for 2 guys (Cueto & Zobrist) that’ll be free agents after 2015 Plus Gordon is free also & I doubt if they’ll have enough dough to keep Gordo & Zobrist both, however Rios only has a one year deal in right. Zobrist really would fit right in the right field. After all that schpiel I’m just counting on Cueto being gone cause he’ll be asking for ridiculous money on a long term contract.
@Crimsonorblue22 Had never seen it and after we bought this place I noticed some of the trees had vines growing up the trunks into the trees. I just started pulling them down and I’d pick up a bundle and take it to the back and burn it. Fortunately I had gloves but was wearing a t-shirt. Both arms and across the chest. Tried to self med but eventually went to doc and got good stuff to get rid of it. Learned my lesson. Was lucky I didn’t inhale any of the smoke from burning it.
@jaybate-1.0 Flabbergasted by the power of the Marauder!! Taking an IED hit and driving away?? Bigger than a military HumVee??
Comparison: Marauder is to HumVee what 2014 Legendary Godzilla is to 1956 Toho Godzilla, or to 1998 hollywood Zilla.
Thats just awesome.
