Well, he turned down a Celtics visit.
-
Whereas Tatum visited. http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/19711028/2017-nba-draft-boston-celtics-take-jayson-tatum-no-3-overall-pick
Did Josh not want to be a Celtic?
-
Wow, just saw this. http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/19711039/2017-nba-draft-phoenix-suns-use-no-4-pick-kansas-josh-jackson
He didn’t know if they’d keep their pick so he didn’t even go. Says he regretted it a little. I would too. Too busy to work out for the Celtics?
-
These type of decision are made by his agent who hopefully has a lot more information than we do.
-
let’s hope so. if not, this is some good drama! getting a lot of press on espn right now
-
Ainge is a little high strung. Walk softly around him, avoid eye contact, and don’t make any sudden movements.
-
unless you want to play for a potential hall of fame coach in a legendary franchise on a winning team…
-
That Suns squad has a ton of youth and potential. The Celtics are in a more complicated situation because its hard to develop young players when you are also trying to compete for a title.
-
Hmm. Seems to me like the Celtics would’ve been a great fit.
-
Did I understand Ainge correctly? He flew across the country to see JJ work out and JJ cancelled out after Ainge got on the plane??
I would have gone to the workout, and if my agent didn’t like it I would have changed agents.
But I guess it was just another “normal mistake”…
-
@KUSTEVE I always liked the Celts growing up and rooted for them over LA, but I never liked Ainge. He was such a _____ (fill in the blank). JJ clearly wanted to go to the Suns.

Nothing new here. Seems they are insinuating that the Suns said something to Josh to change his mind… But just smoke.

Jackson most certainly would have been tradebait if he had gone to Boston. Phoenix seems a better place than Indiana or Utah. There’s nothing to do in Utah!
