In India, international arbitration and related litigation are governed by Indian Arbitration and Conciliation Act,1996. The said act was enacted by the Parliament of India in the lines of “The model law on International commercial Arbitration 1985 and UNCITRAL Rules 1980” to ensure that the Indian law is also similar to the provisions of the arbitration laws of the international community.
