As you may or may not noticed from my lack of participation I have lost a lot of interest in sports over the past year or too. Rule changes, NIL, transfer portal, it all adds up to a less than stellar experience in my view. I am watching the NFL changes in dismay, yes I do like the idea of protecting players just not the methods. Baseball lost me totally to the point I won’t even listen to the games anymore much less attend one. Hell I might stoop to watching cricket soon!

RE: KU vs UCF Game Chat
Almost afraid to comment after that one! I got to keep that in mind for my next drinking, I mean golf, adventure.
I see a lot of trash piled on the players, and they did stink it up, but I feel this ones on Self. We know he knows what it takes to attack a zone. Hell the announcers brought it up a time or two. Put a big that can pass and shoot a 15 footer on the free throw line and get them the ball. Seems we have such a big but did that ever happen? Not that I saw. If Jaybate was still around he would be screaming that HCBS brought them into this game flat and let them struggle and I would be hard pressed to find an argument to oppose him.
No idea why or what he was doing but imo Self could have done more to prevent that meltdown against the zone. I am very interested in how the team will respond to this loss and would love to be a fly on the wall in the next film session.

RE: KU vs TCU game chat
If he was reaching for the ball his arm would not have been going backwards. To me it looked like a move to clear space.

I about hurt myself on that one

RE: Arterio Morris
He probably did not withdraw from classes at KU, just left and enrolled elsewhere. Perhaps an attempt to not drag his problems along or just didn’t give a hoot.

RE: Chiefs signings
Yeah, price seems right and just for the year if it don’t work out

RE: Streaming Services
I use Hulu live, and the Disney package that includes espn+. Wife has other things that come and go. I dropped cable completely when my city put in fiber to the home as a utility, it has been amazing.
Watch out for the cell phone 5g setups because many have a data cap and after you hit it the speed drops below streaming needs.

RE: ZACH CLEMENCE COMING BACK?
I like it. Gives Zach a year to muscle up and learn with no expectation to see the floor. At the same time if he is needed, heaven forbid, he could step in at a moments notice. Kid has some instincts but needs some polish and muscle. He is in a good place to gain both.

RE: Bright Points From The Texas Game...
When I noticed CS sitting throughout most of the game I figured it was going to be an L. I didn’t see him turn red once, at times he looked like jumping up and then would just relax. Got the feeling he wasn’t coaching to lose but sure wasn’t screaming to win.
Agree with the Jaybate no amp comment

RE: Caleb Grill Hot Rumors
@kjayhawks said in Caleb Grill Hot Rumors:
Vick was probably the hardest to watch for me. He had played so well early in the season and was a first rounder in most mock drafts. He just couldn’t handle the lime light and deal with the pressure. I bet he has a ton of regrets on how he handled it. Same could be said for Giddens, Adams and Greene. But you have to live and learn a bit. I think Preston and Alexander deals were much different since the NCAA came down on them. They were going to go as OAD regardless. Best of luck to these guys and I hope they are well.
I saw both Vick and Wiggins at a camp the summer before that first season. Vick was at least as athletic as Wigs and watching them go at each other I was thinking hot damn this is going to be a year. Sadly it didn’t work out that way.

RE: Totally off sports but guys check it out
I have been watching them for about a week, it is pretty cool

RE: Father Bill vs his Large Adult Son Game Thread
My wife made the comment that someone needs to look at the goal on the right. The one KU started and Baylor finished with. I suppose she might have a point if you ignore how flat KU started and how turned up they were in the second half.

RE: Worst Regular Season Losses in the Self Era
Not watched this yet. Not sure I want too!!

RE: Maybe #1
I believe what tickles me most is the fact that Phogg Allen, Moses, or perhaps Self has gotten Dajuan to shoot 3’s. Three to five a game and if they are all makes it is even better. As much as anything else his showing he is an effective 3 point shot will help the team reach their peak.

RE: Ernest Udeh
Has Zach made a shot yet this year? I agree on him pushing and being out of sync.

Edit for my bad typo. Kirk was OH so fun to watch. ️

RE: NC Game thread analysis
@Crimsonorblue22 no they decided I was too many days in and without any symptoms of concern. I am fine now and actually off quarantine today.

RE: NC Game thread analysis
Watched the final four games again yesterday, quarantine is good for something, and got just about as worked up as the live version. I am glad this thread resurfaced.

RE: Coach Sherron
I helped out at camps Sherron was working well after his KU days. He worked very well with the kids, all ages, and you could see his heart was in teaching them all he could in the time allowed. I figured he would be a coach someplace sometime and am tickled to see him doing so.

RE: Kansas senior David McCormack not leaning either way as he awaits feedback to make stay-or-go decision
@BShark agree there, I just don’t see Dave as an NBA guy. I would love for him to prove me wrong but at this point I can’t see him getting that chance. Heck, I could see Mitch getting a look someplace as a potential stretch 4 before Dave does at the 5.

RE: Kansas senior David McCormack not leaning either way as he awaits feedback to make stay-or-go decision
@bskeet said in Kansas senior David McCormack not leaning either way as he awaits feedback to make stay-or-go decision:
Only reason for him to stay is to work on the 3pt game. If he can shoot 35-40% or better from 3 for the year (which, of course would require that Bill allow him to do that) then he could raise his stock with the NBA. 6-10 + dudes that can shoot 3s and are also skilled in the paint (jump hooks, short jumpers, etc.) are valuable in the league.
Another reason to stay may be to prove his foot has finally healed up. Having a bad wheel on a big guy should be a big red flag to any NBA team I would think. He managed to survive a college season on it but how about an NBA marathon?
-
RE: #Raise33ToTheRoof
Dave could come back but every indication I have seen shows him as gone. Tbh he has nothing to gain from coming back unless he wants to add to his education. If he intends to continue plying BB beyond college now would be the time to go as a freshly crowned champion who finished his career at an unbelievable level.

I don’t see that a single Bucketeer picked NC as the finals winner. I am taking that as a good sign!

I don’t know about all of you but I needed that second half explosion to get me through the week at a reasonable stress level.

That was a great second half by all the Hawks!

DC Bucketeers
In DC visiting, is there a good place to watch the game near DuPont Circle or anywhere else for that manner?

RE: Tyreek Trade Likely
Something I have only seen mentioned in one article is Hill’s age. Speed is great and Hill is a fast reliable receiver but how about next year or the year after? Father Time is unbeatable and that 4 year mostly guaranteed contract is likely to bite Miami in the butt down the road. Perhaps sooner hopefully later Tyreek will no longer be able to maintain his speed advantage and I can see KC wanting to get something out of a trade before that day happens.

RE: NCAA Day 2 of The Greatest Tournament in Sports
That sure isn’t the Baylor team KU played this year. They are playing like it is the first time they have played together.
