Apparently it’s decision day for the NCAA. The USC kid De’anthony Melton just got his execution last night. Similar to Preston…held out since November and just got word.

@jayballer54 The Big East members are all Catholic schools which is the reason they separated in the first place; also, they do not compete in football. UConn is not a Catholic School and does have a football program so the chances are slim to none, Dayton, a Catholic basketball school that has been very successful lately is probably a more likely candidate.

@wissox just some young girl on Dr Phil who made a catch phrases famous using the words “catch me outside how bat dat” and for some reason it went viral, for no good reason. Now people say it all of the time either to imitate, make fun of or to just be stupid. To hear Kevin Harlan be on the up and up on something so trivial as this young lost teenage girl was just pure genius to me.

@JayHawkFanToo said: @DanR The roster says he is from Canberra, Australia but in the interview he talked about his home in Nigeria… His parents are diplomats. Interesting story. From the Sydney, Australia paper yesterday: "The 21-year-old’s full name is Nwachukwu Ikeukwumere Chima Moneke, but he goes by ‘Chima’ because it’s easier to pronounce. "The youngest of six boys has lived on five continents moving between Nigeria, Turkey, Switzerland, Australia and America. "He’s also spent time in France and England, but Moneke says Canberra will always be home. "Moneke moved to Australia when he was two and grew up kicking soccer balls until he was encouraged by friends to try basketball at 13. "He was skinny, small and raw, but would eventually star for Lake Ginninderra College alongside Utah Jazz guard Dante Exum. "But Exum scored an NBA contract as the fifth pick in the 2014 draft, signing a deal with the Jazz to kickstart his career. "In contrast, Moneke emailed “at least 300” US schools and almost gave up hope before a recruiter from Northeast Community College in Norfolk, Nebraska, came knocking with a scholarship opportunity. “After two seasons he moved to UC Davis, where in the last week he has hit an overtime game-winner against CSU Fullerton and stunned UC Irvine in the conference final.” http://www.smh.com.au/sport/basketball/canberra-basketballer-chima-moneke-using-ncaa-march-madness-tournament-to-launch-nba-dream-20170314-guy9oa.html

Some people thought this was cocky and i dont, he’s saying what every team i ever played for or coached stepped on the floor to do-Win! I dont really care about overall record personally. If we cut down nets in April im good with some losses (like OSU, Texas and KSU in 08.

@justanotherfan I have to respectfully disagree with you. Ollie is well respected in the NBA as a player because of his work ethic not necessarily because of his ability since he was mostly a role player that averaged 3.8 ppg and 15 mpg over his career. However, his only coaching experience is 2 years as an assistant under Calhoun and 3 as head coach with 1 (very successful) trip to the NCAA with Calhoun’s players) and the next year (last season) he made it only to the 1st round of the NIT. Not really an impressive coaching background. Bruce Weber came within a whisker of winning the NCAA with Self’s players and had a much better record than Ollie and he is not even sniffing the NBA anytime soon; he might even be out of a job at KSU soon. Remember Mike Davis? He made it to the NCAA Title game in his second seasons as HC at Indiana (with Bob Knight’s players) and after that it was all downhill with UAB next and now coaching at Texas Southern of the Southwestern Athletic Conference… a long ways from the bright lights of Indiana and the Big 10. Scott Brooks has finished 5th, 4th, 1st, 1st,1st, 1st and 2nd in the North West division which for a super-small market team with a lot less resources than a big market team is really, really good. He is already third in the franchise history in wins behind only legends Lenny Wilkens and George Karl. I have a couple of friend in OKC that are big fans and what I hear from them is that he is well liked and respected by fans. Last season was a disaster with injuries and they went through 21 players…if Durant had played 30 games instead of 27, they are most likely in the playoffs. When you look at all coached in the NBA history with 400 or more games, Scott Brooks is #8 all time in winning %…this pretty darn good. The only other coaches with a better winning % are: Phil Jackson 0.704 Billy Cunningham 0.698 Gregg Popovich .685 K. C. Jones .674 Red Auerbach -.662 Pat Riley 0.636 Erik Spoelstra 0.629 Scott Brooks 0.620 Anyway, that is my story and I am sticking to it

@JayHawkFanToo Yeah… I think Kentucky is more scary next year and the year after that. I’m guessing the twins will leave Lexington with diplomas. Actually, I have a high degree of respect for the twins. Kentucky has some spoiled rotten super studs… but the twins have not had the easy road to where they’ve gone. They mostly just had size and athleticism going for them, but over the years they have received the very best coaching possible (and needed it) (BTW: not Cal)… for example, they have been with John Lucas since the 8th grade. Those guys have worked their butts off and will continue to improve every year. The real catch for Cal will have been the twins. I know everyone is bagging on them… but those guys get better and better and they bring experience to the team. Now… they will carry a definite chip. Take the constant away from Kentucky (the twins) and lets see how they do!

we are gonna have to hit shots outside of 3 feet today. Although Baylor does play out on shooters. They also in the last game stopped the ball from getting into the middle which we exploited the first match-up. So it will be interesting to see what happens with our bad ball offense. We need a good start, we need shots to fall, and we need to play like the season depends on it. It’s going to take basically the best game we’ve played all year to pull this one out. You know Baylor doesn’t want to go 0-3 against KU.

@truehawk93 It’s crazy that the domino effect of who stays and who goes from Kentucky will basically shape the remaining recruits decisions. Who stays and who leaves KU will have some effect as well but because of the potential for anywhere from 3-7 players going pro from one team is going to have a major effect on everything. As it stands right now you have Towns-Top 5, Stein & Booker Lotto picks. Remember not a lot of quality shooters projected in this draft so that’s why Booker is getting a lot of looks. Lyles & Johnson are also first round talents who could leave as well. At KU you have just Oubre a Lotto pick. Cliff has played himself out of being a high pick this year. Will he leave anyway and be happy with the back end of the first round? Selden & Ellis are not even on the radar and at this point would be beyond disappointed if they bolted. Best scenario is the Twins return with Ullis along with the 2 recruits they already have. That would make Newman go elsewhere. Best frontcourt scenario is that Both Lyles & Johnson return with Poythress & Lee and the 1 recruit they have. Not sure what the New Zealand kid will do if they all return. Interesting that you see Brown going to Michigan. I think if Levert returns after getting hurt he won’t go there. He’s also been to UNC lately but with Jackson & Tokoto there its hard to see him signing with Roy. I still think its between KU, Kentucky & UCLA between him, same as the fall when he singled KU/UK out. UCLA has a major opening for him so they could always pull a shocker. You have to think with Wiggins & Oubre that we stand a great chance of getting another athletic freak like Brown. I still think Ingram is Duke bound with Winslow likely to leave. He was tweeting about the Duke/UNC game. I would be shockingly happy if he came to KU, but Bragg may work his magic. Thon has so much red tape surrounding his reclassification that we might lose even if we win his recruitment. Maybe everything will work out but so many people have said things that scare you from recruiting him. And to mention his last tournament not 1 College coach showed has to say something.
