One of my favorite T-shirts says, “KANSAS - Keeping America safe from Missouri since 1865.” It has a picture of John Brown on it.

RE: Billy Tubbs... RIP (for once!)
I remember watching the 1988 national championship game. Oklahoma was supposed to kill us. At halftime the score was 50-50 and Brent Musburger said there was no way we could keep up with Oklahoma in the 2nd half. Danny Manning and the miracles had different thoughts. They out played the Sooners and the Sooners were the ones with their tongues hanging out. We won 83-79. Larry Brown was a great coach and really out coached Tubbs that day. We also beat K State and Duke in that tournament.

Google celebrates Dr. James Naismith on their Avatar
Have a look at the Google avatar today, 1-15-2021. Really cool.

RE: KU vs TCU game chat
Our turnovers kept them in the game. We should have won by at least 10 points if not more. Coach has to impress upon the guys to take care of the ball.

RE: Can we put the KU versus MU rivalry to bed?
I don’t ever want to play misery again.

RE: Red Raiders Part 3 Game Thread Zach SZN Forreal
I think we’re only two games behind kensucky in the all time wins column. Maybe we can catch them in the NCAA tournament.

Total BS
I’m glad I went to KU in the 60’s and didn’t have to put up with this BS. A course that most likely has feminazi professors. KU has gone totally PC…Sad. The only thing left, worth saving, is their Jayhawk Basketball program.

RE: BOWL THREAD
Earlier in the game we went for a two point conversion and failed. All things being equal, if we kick the extra point, we win in regulation by one.

RE: WHAT DOES CONFERENCE PLAY MEAN TO YOU?
What about UCLA’s other streak…9(?) NCAA tournaments in a row? That would be something to shoot for.

RE: Differentiating fact from opinion on COVID-19
A lot of you guys point fingers at the President and say he didn’t handle the Wuhan virus situation properly. Well so far the virus has a less than 1% mortality rate. I’ll tell you what has a 100% mortality rate, abortion. Abortion has a 100% mortality rate and we have the absolute capacity to eliminate it. Sad that we won’t. Sad. Where is the science in keeping it?

RE: Well just glad to be back
I hope your recovery is short and you are back to normal in no time.

RE: Basketball Food Adventures
I use cast iron for cooking almost exclusively. Once it is seasoned, it is as stick free as teflon. Also it can be used outside on the grill, in the smoker or on a campfire. If you treat it properly, you will be handing it down to your kids. Get some used pans at an antique store. They are already seasoned.

RE: One of the Wildest Turnarounds, Saint Peter's
I think we are one game behind UK now in total wins.

RE: Jayhawk Championship Garb...
I haven’t counted my shirts but a few years ago my wife had a quilt made from 30 of my shirts. She gave me the quilt for Christmas. The funny thing was that I didn’t miss the shirts. I am retired and I wear a Jayhawk shirt everyday. I’ll even wear one under a dress shirt to church, etc. I’ll definitely be buying some 2022 NC shirts. Go HAWKS. It was a great year. Congratulations!!!

RE: Puerto Rico!
Listening to Brian Hanni and Greg Gurley on the radio is fun. Brian does a great and exciting play by play. I wish he did the games on TV. He is much better than the ESPN commentators. Try kuathletics.leanplayer.com It’s free. It reminds me of listening to games on radio when I was a kid.

RE: RIP Gale Sayers.
Gale’s senior year was my freshman year, so I got to see him one season. He was fun to watch. I wouldn’t want to have been on defense trying to catch him. You knew every time he got the ball, he had a chance to carry it a long way.

RE: RIP Pepper Rodgers
I remember that Orange Bowl. We were ahead by one and Penn St. went for a two point conversion and failed. We were flagged for 12 men on the field. Penn St. went for two again and made it to win the game by one point. I was at a friend’s house in Prairie Village and was so pissed off, I drove back to Lawrence.

Because they let the boys use the girls bathroom.

RE: Our stadium remodel
Are they going to lower the field to make more capacity?

RE: What Would Be the Threshold of Decline in Performance After Which KU Fans Stop Marveling at Self's Ingenius Recruiting Work Arounds?
I’ll wait for the decline to start, before I start to worry. We have the best coach, period. Yes, the squid can sweet talk an unbelievable number of 5 stars each year, but each year he starts from scratch. I don’t think that is a winning strategy, in the long run. Look at the international tournament. Self took the hawks to Korea and won GOLD with 1 five star player (Josh Jackson). The squid took a team of five star players to Egypt and couldn’t win gold. He got beat by that perennial basketball powerhouse, Canada. I rest my case on who is the better coach.

RE: Self Talks about 20-21 season
I would say there are a boatload of foreign students. If Tristan can’t come back, then neither can they. There are probably several high profile programs with foreign student athletes.

RE: 11 AM Start, Wed NC STATE
Wisconsin beat Kensucky a few years ago in the tourney semi final game. The year Kensucky was supposed to go undefeated 40-0. They went 38-1…lol.
