They are all 11, about to turn 12. They actually won the 2015 USAV National Championship in New Orleans as the 11’s. I think there are a couple of dreams to play KU volleyball!

One of the girls is my daughter. They went up to Jamari and the others and asked for the autograph and a pic. Jamari let them use his phone and snap a couple pics. Click on the pic and see the other guys photo bombing.

Pretty cool to see the BB support at the VB games, not to mention they are undefeated and awesome!

There is strong rumor from a recruiting insider that if Marshall were to leave WSU, that Ron Baker has strong consideration of playing his last year with Kansas (if not pro (which is still more likely )). Thought this was interesting tho.

Good point with youth. Time for a Jayhawk “youth” team to break thru and notch a F4 spot! Question is when will we just flat go with it? Time for Xander to start. Lucas will be the hungrier one from the bench.

My quick thoughts below.

Let’s all bury the ax that KY shoved down our throats. We can without a doubt say the world about Kentucky talent but they have proved a couple of weak spots themselves. They can go stagnant offensively and note the defense that does create problems for them. Not pressuring the ball 35feet from the basket. They can break that down easily with their guards and its lob city. A shell type of defense around the perimeter of the paint is choice here with guards helping in and out. Force the 3, they aren’t spexial there.

Enough of John Cali mari’s NBA team.

Let’s talk Jayhawks baby!! Let’s just enjoy the ride. We will no doubt be the toughest team in the B12. Love what Bill kept telling the team during timeouts of GTown game “I don’t whose gonna take this team but it’ll be the toughest team”. He’s going to build mentality that will keep us in every game from here on out (minus maybe the game in Austin; on road etc…)

Hell of a little stretch here. Look at the top 10 and ask what team we couldn’t go wire to wire with in 6-8 weeks. We can straight up defend when we were on and defending is what Bill teaches best and is what you can get night in night out regardless of offense. Offense I hope is what starts to click (signs are there) and we all see a team that looks capable is a 1-2 seed and a shot to make a deep run.

Xander was an animal. He’s going to quickly become a matchup problem for most teams (still thinking about Greasy Cal’s team - man I really dislike that guy) especially with Perry stretching the floor the way he’s been. The question and key will be “can Perry consistently” do this.

My early take on our team…

Against KY Self half held back what will be our horses come late Jan & early Feb. Folks have called out his “lack” of being a coach that game and think after he realized we didn’t have it that night (on any basketball level) he let them go “on their own” to prove a couple of points.

From HCBS to Team:

1. You guys won’t get anywhere individually. Attention is now mine.
2. Alexander youre the best player on the team, You’re gong to earn it during December. Cliff you stud, you remind me of a cross breed of DJack and TRob. Motor you have.
3. Svi shoot it. Svi shoot it. Svi shoot it . You have the trigger that perhaps we haven’t seen since Boschee.
4. Hey Frank and Wayne you’ve got to find your way. You need to feed the Cliff the Great, make your wide open shots and your lanes will clear like the Red Sea. B Greene, I love ya but keep yourself out of the doghouse your soph year, play your role, be a spark and also shoot it son.
5. We will win the B12 again. Goal is still, you damn right is a National Chanpionship.

Self finds interesting ways to motivate his group. In a nice “to be real candid with you” he’s calling them small. He’ll get them to play bigger as the year progresses.

Wow Svi is tough, he’s doing it all out there!
