    • RE: I miss Jaybate, I miss last year.

I don’t post often but thought I could respond on this one.

Jaybate is my friend"s Uncle. My friend informed me very simply that Jaybate decided to take a break from basketball this season because of his disappointment in KU’s involvement that specifically came out in the FBI trial.

The main reason I stay away from KUSports now is because the posters can’t even spell our players names correctly.

Tweet from Jay Bilas this morning:

“KU’s Tharpe…gasp…played BASKETBALL this summer, suspended: (link to article) Unpaid, yet NCAA still tells him when , if he can play.”

      Hilarious

Awesome site! Thank you to all who were involved in setting this up.

      Has anyone found Jaybate?

AXS is channel 291 with Comcast in Chicago. I believe the Friday and Saturday games are on NBC Sports Network as well.

    • RE: Who is our Leader?

Mason needs to go back to coming off the bench and Tharpe needs to lead this team.

When do we think about starting someone else instead of Selden?

It seems as though Greene has won the battle for the other minutes…?

Tharpe may be the vocal leader but Perry needs to take on the rest of the leadership responsibilities.

Wiggins is coming along and needs to keep it up.

    • RE: Time to put Venue on the Menu: "touché" Wichita State!

I was talking to the WSU assistant athletic director a couple years back when they were afraid Marshall was going to leave. He said that he had been watching tape of other coaches getting the search ready for a replacement. My uncle asked him if they were considering Danny Manning and he laughed and said absolutely not, we would never have hire a coach just because he was good player at KU once upon a time. He then continued to trash our program about everything and did so every time he was around me after.

If it was in our best interest to play WSU then we would, stop acting like we know everything that goes on behind the scenes. There are massive amounts of politics involved and we are doing what is best for our university which is what Marshall is trying to do because they need to play us not the other way around.

We will never have a rivalry with the shockers and they will never bring a football team back.

This was obviously way after Turgeon. The assistant athletic director wasn’t around when Turgeon was there or even close to being there and that’s who said it.

I don’t think we are “backing” down from anything and there is a lot more that goes into scheduling then simply saying ok let’s play WSU at Intrust Bank Arena this year. I’m talking about politics in business not of the coaching staffs crossing paths.

I was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas. I grew up around WSU all my life as my family is very close to the university which includes all the people we are talking about. I went to KU and would much rather see us go play Florida then give up that game to play WSU. I’m not scared, I’d love to kill them on the court but for whatever reason it’s not happening…yet

    • RE: Joel's Gone

      @JRyman - Excellent post

Imagine how Black felt answering questions all week about how he was going to make up for the loss of Joel. Black played like an absolute champion and wore his heart on his sleeve during the Stanford game. He tried as hard as he could to take us to Memphis and when we couldn’t hang on, he was devastated. I could barely watch the video of him being interviewed after.

I am excited for the future because we have guys that are already showing Heart. Frankamp is one of those; Selden has shown his heart and passion; I believe that even Greene shows the fire and the heart to want to take this team to new heights. I believe Tharpe tries is absolute hardest, he looked heart broken after the loss as well. I hope Perry finds his or if he already has it, I want him to show it.

I obviously wish Wiggins and Embiid would stay one more year but I wish Black could as well.

Heart is why T-Rob will always be one of my favorite players.

    • RE: The Champions Classic

The KU Alumni Association and Chicago Alumni network have two pregame events set up. I believe they start at 3 at The WestEnd and The Crossroads Bar & Grill. Both are fairly close to the United Center.

      Rock Chalk!
