Thanks for posting this. I don’t have much credit on here so I havent said anything…but more and more posts are feeling like the comments section of that other site.
But easy enough to avoid and still mostly great content.

Updated word from the twittersphere is that Kobe Eubanks might be visiting, possibly this weekend. I could have sworn he crossed us off his list but I guess not. Recent CB picks even have him heading to KU.
Wish these recent possible recruits were a little bigger but they all look like they will add quality to the bench.
With Vick coming either way, most likely 2015, it has me looking at how this impacts future recruiting.
My first though is about Mitch Ballock. Unless things change both he and Vick fill a similar role. Hopefully Vick doesn’t push away a local kid. I always want the best available but maybe next year if we miss I won’t worry as much knowing Mitch is a lock for the next year.
My second thought is maybe relationships aren’t such a big deal in AAU ball other wise why won’t we see a bump in interest from Jaylen Fisher. KU was on him early but he appears to be staying local at this point. Fisher looks like a good fit and a reliable back-up for a senior Graham.
I’m done thinking, bored with slow bball news today.
Guilty! Actually your post title alone got me excited that there might be new.
Well there goes Tilmon. Committed to Mizzo. Maybe they will enjoy some NOT success.
I think the most amazing statistic was that we had no give always in the first half. It goes to show you what taking care of the ball can do for you.
I really wanted ISU to win today so the Jayhawks be the first but Ill settle for pulling the curtain on the Hilton Magic.
I apologize if this has already been answered… In preparation for the WUG will Cheick and Svi be able to practice with the team? More importantly, will they be able to play in the exhibition games against Canada?
I guess I just worry that excluding them from this process will cause continuity issues.
Has anyone else noticed what Williams refers to himself on his Twitter account? All this time I though he was PF but he is saying SF…kinda interesting. Side note- glad to have Vick in the fold, anytime a guard is a slasher I get Langford type high hopes. (Don’t kill my dream)
I’m not sure this has been brought up, if so I apologize. If TF does commit to Alabama is this another strike against Snacks? 247 lists him and HCBS as the KU recruiters.
Or is it more a sign of what we saw this year; with big impact players choosing smaller schools so they can shine individually.
Either way the Snacks dialogue may quickly become a “what have you done for me lately” issue.
BG can’t redshirt now. Anyone other than freshman that play in the exhibition game is not eligible for one.
Obviously I’m too dumb to figure out how to start a new thread… but just read that Evan Maxwell has left the team. Odd news.
Not the best place… but any way, looking for ideas and introducing myself. "Long time listener, first time caller.’’ I have been stalking these boards for a long time and a KU fan since TJ Pugh left Prep for Lawrence. I’m excited to say that I’m FINALLY going to my first game Sunday in Lawrence! I have seen them every time they played in Omaha but I suspect that this will feel much different.
Any must do things while in town? I’m just there for the day and the game is early.
Thanks all for the inside scoops over the years!
Well, not the desired outcome for my first visit to Allen Fieldhouse but an amazing experience. A few take always;
2). Something you don’t get to see on tv that I was surprised about… SDSU getting booed like crazy. Maybe I’m in the minority but I don’t see the point.
3). As much as Wiggins may be over hyped, he does not get enough credit for his defense. Other than a few lapses he is a shut down defender who wants to guard the ball no matter what.
4). Very frustrating to watch. You always worry when KU doesn’t break 70. I can’t count how many time a ball went half way down.
5). On my way home listening to the post game was rough. I’m sure others heard it but Self spoke very bluntly about Greene and Frankamp. Self said something to the fact that they need to get them in to games but they were not ready for a game like tonight and it was evident in practice. Also I didn’t know Naadir had hurt his ankle so bad Wednesday and had not practiced since.
Tough lose but amazing experience. I can’t wait to get a chance to go back! RCJH
@HighEliteMajor I was as surprised to hear it as anyone. My wife and I both looked at each other amazed. Conner I can understand but he lumped Greene in the same statement.
The kusports article makes reference to the statement but didn’t include the part that practice was proof they weren’t ready.
I might be wrong but I thought I saw Greene in for a few mop up minutes. I know a few people said he didn’t so I might be loosing it.
Living in Omaha, Creighton basketball really frustrates me. Last night was beyond a miracle and they will not duplicate it again this season. One of their better players is on the bench for the next few weeks so we will see if they can keep others at bay.
I watched that game and couldn’t believe what Villanova was doing. Creighton is lacking any real interior presence other than Dougie they aren’t very physical. I thought Nova would play a lot tougher in your face man on D. I also don’t know why they didn’t run some type of high low and lots of screens. Just wait until G-town, I think we all saw the rough game they play.
… And the craziest Post game headline… OSU continues to spiral; Beats fans since they can’t beat teams!!!
@drgnslayr I actually think you might be on to something here!
The class of 2015 has both a PF and SF from Huntington Prep that are highly ranked. Montaque as the SF spot may be much needed addition if Oubre plays his way to a OAD status. I also think Thomas Bryant at the PF would be a great pick up since Big Cliff is gone. This gives Perry someone to mentor his senior year and he will have a lot to teach by then. There should be no rush for this kid to leave either because it looks like the PF spot for 2015 is deep.
Thanks for the video! I haven’t watched much of Tevin but seems like a smooth player. The only thing negative I saw from that video is that he seems to be a below the rim player… Or maybe I’m reading into that breakaway layup too much.
What better place to gamble than Los Vegas. The way I understand the pay is it will be a calculated based on a players future earning potential.
Jerry Meyer was tweeting with someone and said the way it was explained to him was…
The team will pay a player the money for a percentage of possible future earnings.
So not everyone gets the same pay, but gets paid enough for the owners to profit off their future earnings. This is a one year gamble on kids that will make good money and some will bust and they will lose out… Guess that’s Vegas, everyone trying to get an edge. This time off the backs of 18 year olds with terrible council mostly.
Did anyone else notice that the article says the non US players will not be attending? I thought it had been clarified that they would not play but would be joining the team still for the trip. If this is the case I hope this doesn’t create a rift within the team.
Zags seems to think Hoiberg has the job if he wants it. They also included in an article that someone in Diallos camp said when Hoiberg was recruiting Cheick that he could promise he would be the couch next year.
I might be wrong here but I don’t think we can just have a player pay their way to solve the problem. I thought you could only suit up so many players and if one scholarship player does take one for the team so we can add Chuckwu, then who doesn’t suit up? The obvious answer is a walk-on but man that seems like a tough pill to swallow, and not likely to be a coaches kid.
T.J. Pugh, the reason I am a Jayhawk fan! I’m pretty sure he is a doctor now. No basketball post graduate from KU from what I can tell.
He may not have been a super star but to a young kid he seemed every bit of it. T.J. Played on an awesome Creighton Prep (Omaha NE) basketball team and after following that team as a young kid I transitioned to KU basketball right with him.
Puuuuuuuuuugh!
Is that Mitch Lightfoot sitting next to Tyler?
I thought that article was full of good new except for the ACL tear.
I think it’s great news that the players will be moved into their new digs before late night. This mean they will be able to show it off to the dozens of recruits visiting. (Dozens may be too much but it’s close)
… And per Self, he is a junior so it is what it is. sadly
