RE: #$%@ Covid
@BShark I’m so sorry about your friend. I’ll keep you in my prayers. As @Crimsonorblue22 recommended, try to think about the good times you shared. She is right - that can help and, remember, the bucket kingdom is here for you!

@jayballer67 Thanks for that information. I really appreciate it!

RE: Need a win tonight thread
@BeddieKU23 - This reflects the changes to the 2021 game schedule as of 2/9/21
Date Matchup Time TV
February 11 ISU@ KU 6:00 February 13 KU @ ISU 2:00 February 17 KU @ KSU 7:00 February 20 TTU@ KU 1:00 February 23 KU @ UT 8:00 ESPN2
Do you or anyone reading this have information about which TV channels or ESPN+ will be carrying which games? It really irritates me that the TV information is no longer included in the game schedule on the KU website. I’ll appreciate any help anyone can give me.

RE: Non-KU Games Thread
@wissox The Wichita Eagle newspaper reported that KU started this season down 16 games to Kentucky but have now narrowed that spread to being down 9. The writer expressed doubt that KU could completely close the gap and take the lead, but I’m routing for it as hard as I know how:)!
-
RE: KU has their answer for WVU shooter
@wissox I guess I wasn’t bothered as much by the calls in the second half either after they guys found their answer
-
RE: KU has their answer for WVU shooter
@wissox Nothing lame about it. A very well written and enjoyable read as was your really great recap of the Texas Tech game. I thought of you last night as I was watching the game and the many bad calls that you might recap this game much as you did the TT game. I thought the calls were so one-sided in WV’s favor that I was actually shocked the few times we had a call go our way!

RE: Tartleton Game Canceled
HCBS said in his radio interview after the Omaha game that due to Covid testing requirements, there simply wasn’t enough time to get a replacement game scheduled.

RE: Wichita lololol
@Crimsonorblue22 This is from an email put out by the Wichita Eagle:
Marshall received support from former WSU basketball players since the allegations were made public, but none of those public supporters were with the Shockers during the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons when the coach allegedly engaged in the physical abuse that triggered the investigation.
Fred VanVleet, Ron Baker and Landry Shamet — three of Marshall’s most famous alums who all reached the NBA — have not publicly weighed in on their view of Marshall in light of the allegations.
The closest any of them have come was when Baker was asked about the topic on the 4 SZNS NBA Podcast released on Nov. 10.
“Think about 14 years ago and think now what Coach Marshall has done there, so (the boosters) coming out and saying they support (Marshall), I totally get it,” Baker said. “But my only defense right now is they weren’t in the gym when those things were happening. So they’ve got to understand where I come from when I walk the fence line. There will definitely be a time where I think I’ll get into more depth.”
It will be interesting if Ron says more publicly for sure.

RE: Feeling pretty fortunate today/ Blessed - puts things in perspective
I join the other posters in being glad that this incredibly scary incident ended well for your wife and am so proud of the QT employee’s quick action to protect her. Prayers for you and your wife recovering quickly from the trauma!
-
RE: Today really puts things in perspective for me
@jayballer67 I’m so very sorry to learn of your wife’s situation. Please keep your Buckets family posted as you learn more. And, please know you and your wife and family will certainly be in my prayers. Try to keep positive thoughts and remain hopeful.

RE: Differentiating fact from opinion on COVID-19
@Crimsonorblue22 Doc Marshall, as he seems to want to be called, was also taking Hydroxychloroquine and he certainly should have known it wasn’t a preventative/cure but I’m sure his idol Trump was pleased. @approxinfinity “He just can see the world without him in the center of the picture.” What a perfect way to describe Trump!

RE: So I just don't know , things are just a mess
@Crimsonorblue22 I’m with you, girl. I’m very concerned that churches are not going to adhere to social distancing. Now that Gov. Kelly has turned over the decision making to the counties, Sedgwick County is going to open up completely. This just in from the Wichita Eagle: “Sedgwick County’s new coronavirus plan: advice but no rules, everything can open The commission decided Wednesday to allow all county businesses to reopen, with no enforceable rules on social distancing or other measure.” I just don’t get why being asked to continue to use caution is considered by some to be an infringement of their rights/freedoms.

RE: Differentiating fact from opinion on COVID-19
@mayjay That’s a cute story. I bet you’re a great dad, step or not. I was raised by a step dad that I adored.
-
RE: Differentiating fact from opinion on COVID-19
@Crimsonorblue22 Well, I for one totally agree with Crim. When I was little, my parents didn’t tolerate lying and name calling - two trademark habits of his in which he seems to take pride and his supporters relish.

RE: Wedding Questions
@Kcmatt7 Best wishes to you and your bride. As @jayballer73 said, cherish the moment. When the time is right to gather a larger group of family and friends, the two of you could renew your vows so your guests could share in that.
-
RE: Global Pandemic of Boredom
@RockChalkinTexas Great to hear from you. And, you are right - we are blessed to live in places where we’re not living on top of each other. I’m glad you have your girls and lots of fun activities to pass the time. I do a lot of cooking, some baking, but mostly big pots of stuff on the stove top. Can’t wait for all of this to be in the rear view mirror. I miss my friends, but am glad to have this site to keep up with all my buckets friends! I join @Crimsonorblue22 in being glad your health is great.

Some conservatives are not entirely blind. Either that, or they are throwing Trump under the bus as he has done with so many others.
https://thebulwark.com/warnings-ignored-a-timeline-of-trumps-covid-19-response/
The Bulwark is an American conservative news and opinion website founded by conservative commentators Charlie Sykes and Bill Kristol. The publisher is Sarah Longwell. While it launched as a news aggregator, it was revamped into a news and opinion site with “the core digital staff of The Weekly Standard.”
@bskeet Thanks for posting about thebulwark.com. I wasn’t familiar with it, but recognize Charlie Sykes and Bill Kristol’s names. I not only read the article you linked, but the others shown on the side of it. This seems like a pretty trust-worthy site and it is encouraging to see some well known conservatives presenting facts instead of the kool-aide.

RE: Differentiating fact from opinion on COVID-19
@Crimsonorblue22 Yes it is. I hope everyone is taking precautions, but a certain amount of life has to go on. My family is fortunate to have two fridges and a good sized freezer, but you still need stuff from the store like fresh produce, eggs, etc. I saw something about freezing milk, but didn’t read anything but the headline which indicated you could. We bought a few packages of frozen veggies just in case.

RE: Other Games
@Crimsonorblue22 I doubt it. The WSU fans inexplicably adore him. And, he’s got a pretty sweet deal where he is. I don’t know what his salary is but I understand Charles Koch kicks in some pretty big bucks, too.

RE: Dok Dok Dok Dok Dok
@Crimsonorblue22 That is a cool pic, but I thought players and fans all looked up to Bill!

RE: The Game before Silvio comes back.
@Woodrow I don’t trust KSU to have enough metal detectors or an adequate security plan. We all remember when Jamari got mugged and Self got pushed into the scorer’s desk. That happened in a “normal” KU/KSU game. The one Saturday comes after the unfortunate events at their last meeting in AFH.
-
RE: The Game before Silvio comes back.
@Crimsonorblue22 If someone contacted me to let me know I had been awarded the opportunity to attend the KU/KSU game for free and to sit on the KU bench next to Bill Self throughout the game and join in the huddle, you still couldn’t get me there at gun point.

@HawkChamp I guess you didn’t read the part where i already apologized. It was just to emphasize how much i disliked WSU. Didn’t mean anything by it.
ya even though I really liked the City of Wichita for sure doesn’t mean I have a love fest for Marsha and the gang. - - I remember Eddie and the group - However did kind of like the motto " MTXE " - - Mental Toughness Extra Effort. - -Couldn’t stand his son Randy cocky little shit. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
@jayballer73 I think the MTXE slogan is from the Gene Smithson era. He’s Randy’s dad. We used to run into Gene and his wife occasionally while out to dinner. Gene had horrible table manners! Eddie Fogler was only a WSU for 3 years and when he left, WSU went cheap and promoted an assistant coach, Mike Cohen, who couldn’t pour liquid out of a boot with the instructions on the heal.

RE: More than we can BEARS...
@Crimsonorblue22 That used to be true when KU had only 9 losses under Self in 2017 and Baylor’s loss to KU that year put Drew’s number of losses in Allen at 10. So since Baylor lost at Allen in 2018 and 2019, Drew’s number of losses would be 12. Self now has now has 13 I think. But Self’s winning percentage in Allen far exceeds Drew’s!
