IMHO, most every game is about “match ups.” We are fortunate to have the IB/C5 to address specific game match ups, which gives us a lot of versatility. No doubt we will see Diallo & Bragg involved in more suitable games, and LL & HM & JT will be involved in other suitable games given the match ups. CD & CB will eventually get more valuable minutes and experience when we play the lesser teams. Hopefully, they will be ready to take more minutes and adjust to tougher match ups sooner rather than later. Either way, I am elated to have IB/C5 this season!

RE: Pot and Its Impact on BB IQ?
Hmm. Thought this was a “KU sports site.” Now it’s bash marijuana and progressives/liberals? I dare say we could all find fault with drugs, alcohol, religion and politics no matter where you stand on such matters, and I suggest we save that for “other” sites.
Besides, I’m not in the mood to take you on, and show you the fault in your eyes. And I could.
Here, we’re ALL Jayhawks, right?!

RE: Oregon Matchups
My high school / collage girlfriend is married to an OR assistant coach. She mentioned the arena was bleeding blue. Then said OR could only buy 1000 tickets, and that KC IS NOT a neutral court, and calling it BS. LOL Sure we have an advantage, but we earned our seeding, and won the right to play in KC. Not our fault. Excuses, excuses.

RE: Full Schedule Released
I think we’re a lock for another 30+ win season, and another B12 title. Time for a damn FF and another NC Ring! Go Hawks!

RE: Quentin Grimes Is A Jayhawk (MONSTER CLASS ALERT)
Sure beats biting our fingernails through March, huh?

RE: Diallo a Jayhawk
Great, great news! He’s not our “savior,” but he did answer our prayers. Also, a great choice for him and his future development.

RE: 2020 Recruiting
Could be we are quite stacked already with many possible returning players from this year’s team. Too many unknowns at this time, and higher ranked prospects want to start, and/or don’t want to be the 7th or 8th player off the bench.

RE: Mason's D
I thought his D was tenacious! The Man gave it everything he had against a solid POY candidate, and that should make us all very proud. I was also proud that PE finally showed a lot of emotion which demonstrates a strong “the will to win.” It can be contagious!

RE: Trae Young
As much as I love to see our players achieve their NBA dreams, it is indeed, a very rough road to success. Looking back on the past, I see all but 2 or 3 KU players chosen in the 2nd round or beyond, have not faired well in their NBA pursuits. Even a few chosen in the 1st round have had minimal success.
I would love to see Devonte and Svi stay for a banner year next year, but it’s not my life, and not my call. Either way, they will always be Jayhawks, and I will always be rooting for them!

RE: Frank Mason's KU Goodbye Letter
Really an incredible and insightful letter. But don’t say “Good Bye, Kansas.” Say, “See you later, Jayhawk Nation!”

RE: Devon
For the young folks who might not know or remember. Check out the “Miracles” who did a great job supporting Danny! https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/schools/kansas/1988.html

RE: RJ Hampton
I would LOVE to have both of these guys! My only concern would be that I hope they check their egos at the door when they come to KU. Nothing wrong with being highly ranked, highly confident, and wanting minutes or to play with your buddy, but this is a team sport AND this is Kansas! Anyone else have that concern?

RE: New 2019 Recruiting
For all of you “statistic geeks,” I would love to know how many NBA players there are that were NOT ranked in the top 40-75 coming out of HS. Seems like there is a lot of NBA talent that weren’t OAD’s or highly ranked coming out of HS, but I could be wrong. I’m always rooting that the Hawks find some more “diamonds in the rough” like Mason, Graham, etc.

RE: So What's Different This Year
Nice take on the difference this year. I say we bring the bubblin’ crude and cement pond to the dance, and show 'em all who the best team is this year!!!

RE: WVU 2 FTAs, KU 35 FTAs: Should the Referees Be Brought in for Questioning by the FBI that Is Reputedly Looking into other Bizarre Activities in D1, or Is KU's New Two Free Throw Defense Just that Great of an Innovation?
Did I see this right? TT plays 3 games over a 6 day period? WOW!

RE: Recruiting Thread
I’d love to get Romeo, but won’t we have at least Vick, Garrett, Moore, Cunliffe, Grimes, Dotson, and Lawson filling the 1-3 spots? And we will have Doke, Lightfoot, Lawson, and McCormick for the 4-5 spots. Where’s the room for Romeo? Who’s our starting five, and who’s off the bench?

RE: KU-OU Bullet Points: KU Comeback Falls Five Short
Under Self’s tenure, the Jayhawks have focused on (perfected?) the Hi-Lo offense. And with no surprise, we practiced this extensively heading into this season. Then Preston goes down at the start of the season, and now we are forced to rely solely on a 4-1 offense. It takes time to master that, and we are still figuring out how to negate the rebounding problems with the 4-1. Right now, I see lack of effort and knowledge. I would like to see how we play with Doke and Lightfoot on the floor (ala Hi-Lo) if for anything, shits and giggles. Regardless, let’s hope this team perfects the 4-1, warts and all, into a championship team!

RE: Bill Self - cost us the game?
You play the best FT shooters in crunch time when the opposing team’s strategy to get back in it, is fouling Doke.
