I know very little about football. Can someone please explain to me if it was a surprise that the Rams released Todd Gurley. Is it unusual to let someone of his stature go at age 26?

Knee problems. Sounds like he is getting a one year prove it type deal with KC. It’s done but not announced yet because of the rona from my understanding.
