###Bedore: Notebook: Andrew Wiggins remains confident Kansas can win NCAA tournament###
Kansas City Mo. — Kansas University freshman Andrew Wiggins, who has yet to play in the NCAA Tournament, has heard there’s a significant difference in a team being a No. 1 or 2 seed.
“It’s always a factor. A one seed … you are playing the easiest route,” Wiggins said after the Jayhawks’ 94-83 loss to Iowa State in a Big 12 tournament semifinal on Friday night in Sprint Center.
###Bedore: ‘Unacceptable’ performance: Jayhawks lament lack of defense in loss to Iowa State###
Kansas City, Mo. — Soft-spoken Perry Ellis issued a stern warning to his Kansas University basketball teammates after Friday’s 94-83 loss to Iowa State in a Big 12 tournament semifinal in Sprint Center.
“After the game, he told us, ‘No more, no more. We can’t let this happen any more,’’’ freshman guard Frank Mason said.

I think I could have scored against KU’s defense tonight…maybe.
-
@wissoxfan83 Did Perry give up more than the 30 he scored? It sure seemed like it down the stretch. I know what I’d do if I was Fred and I didn’t want to see my kid cry again. I’d isolate Niang on Ellis and watch the scoreboard burn out. I know after the third straight layup at about the 6 minute mark is when I had to go watch something else (for a couple minutes) as it was obvious that the 'Hawks were going to lose due to a complete lack of defense.
Well I hope the guys learned a little something. The next loss will be their last together. I’m hopeful for 6 more games, but it looks like 2 may be the max depending on the matchup.
I miss Embiid.

Can’t bring myself to post the ESPN articles. Most are about how ISU is final four bound. I say tough out, but KUs already beaten them twice, so who’s the better team?
I’m afraid that postseason success is completely up to when Embiid comes back, how fast KU adjusts to Embiid returning, and how healthy Embiid is when he’s back. KU needs a rim-protector. The Jayhawks have shown all year the only way they can play decent defense is to turn all shooters into drivers so that JoJo can intimidate them into an awkward shot.

@HighEliteMajor-Kids quit playing video games with me when I got good enough to beat em. Techmo & Punchout were my two favs. Also off topic but just looked at my rss feed from the kcstar & read that Sam Lacey passed away today. That man had skills !! Kings had a helluva team with Sam, Tiny, Wedman, & Birdsong. Sam was a great & gentle person also. He lived here in the metro for about the last 35 years & although a reserved personality, was always welcome to charities & neighbors.

Congrats to Danny & the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes on winning conference USA!

This bodes well for KU. If I were a betting man, I would bet that Embiid alone is leaving and Myles Turner is headed to KU. If it works out this way, KU will have an even better team next year.
-
@JayHawkFanToo why do you think we’ll be better? What if Embiid stays?
-
@Crimsonorblue22 The addition of Alexander, Turner and Michelson adds IMHO more to the team than the subtraction of Embiid leaving does. Wiggins is likely better than Oubre, but the team will have considerably more experience.
If Embiid stays, Turner will not come to KU, but we will still add Michelson ad Alexander. The net result either way is a better, more experienced team; of course this is just my opinion.

@JayHawkFanToo I saw where suzy on KU sports comments, said she would bet Self would get an elite pg transfer??? What do you think? I have no idea, nor would I get on there to ask. Somebody will.
-
If we get a transfer he would have to sit one year, unless he has finished his degree in 3 years and the school he is attending does not have the graduate programs he wants, much like Tarik Black.
-
@JayHawkFanToo I am just guessing, but thought that’s what she meant. The article earlier said Self was looking at 2015 guards. Probably rumor.
