DVR it for a friend.

@wrwlumpy not familiar, would you help me out please?

Metro Sports is the Time Warner/Spectrum sports channel that carries blacked out KU games. In the KC Metro area the only other provider that carries Metro sports is Comcast.

@JayHawkFanToo thanks! would love to watch again and get me pumped for the upcoming season. this was a great precursor for the kensucky game

Channel 913 on Comcast in JOCO. It was replayed that evening, too. It is a clear picture, better than the kind of rough signal during the game.
Also, make sure you extend time. It ran over the 2 hour window on my recording.

How happy are you with Comcast? I used to have it a long time ago when it was the only cable provider in my neighborhood and customer support was by far the worst of any utility I have ever had; not even close. I am on Consolidated now but the cost keeps going up and they have great deals…if you are a new customer and they refuse to extend the rate to existing customers, even when there is zero up front expenses. Cable TV is the only business I can think that gives better rates to new customers and keeps increasing the cost for long term customers, even when new customers will need new installation that probably costs hundreds of $. Pretty fed up with all cable providers, I am considering cutting the cord and going with a service like Hulu or Sling.

@wrwlumpy What is Meto Sports? Is that a KC area station?

@JayHawkFanToo I’ve had all of them … ATT, Consolidated (whatever it was before), and Comcast. Don’t like any of them. I’ve stuck with Comcast because in large part Metro Sports (which is now the Spectrum Sports Channel) as it had great high school coverage and KU. Now they’ve cut their HS coverage, so I may bail. All the boys I know and have coached are seniors this season in high schools around town (my youngest is a senior), so after that I won’t care as much. But the alternative suck too. Comcast has really been ok.
@KUSTEVE It’s a KC station – Metro Sports. Now Spectrum Sports. It carries the KU stuff here. Other providers don’t have it. Only Comcast in Johnson County (Time Warner in KC).

I moved from Consolidated/SW Bell to Everest which had great local based customer service and great rates and provided Internet, cable and phone. Then SureWest took over and the service went down and prices up. When Consolidated took over I dropped the phone and moved to VOIP since the prices took a huge increase. Tthe service center is now based in Illinois and customer Service absolutely sucks; it takes about 5-7 days to get a service call.
At this time, I am considering cutting cable all together and going with Sling or Hulu over the internet, about half the cost for the same product. Several friends have done it and seemed pretty pleased.

@KUSTEVE If you live in the KC Metro area, Time Warner Cable, which is now Spectrum, has a sports channel called Metro Sports for KC local sports and all of the KU Basketball games that are not broadcast by the major networks or the national basic cable companies. ESPN, Fox Sports etc.
