High Flying Guard Show vs Macropodidae Game Thread

@kjayhawks But that’s OK cause he knows that def, taking charges, & diving for loose balls get him higher on the pecking list with HCBS than points. Ala AWIII, BG, & CF …
-
Not enough bodies. Next year I could easily see it happening but depends on the situation. Certainly if Bragg is back AND KU has Wooten to add to the class.
-
@globaljaybird hustle will get him far w/coach
-
I hope Florida beats the crap out of Dook…
-
@BShark With us playing small and having 4 other bigs I think would be okay most games. The only game he was truly needed was Indiana because it was a foul when I reached for my drink.
-
Foul trouble and potential injury situation. It’s tough with only 10 scholarship players that can play.
-
Testify brother Steve.
-
@BShark I understand your side but you can always pull the red shirt if needed. It is what it is at this point. Keeping work Mitch you’ll get there.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 No doubt & agree @BShark not near enough manpower with Coleby still on the mend & LL not up to snuff. Some guys never fully recover from an ACL. BB players who do not get a donor or one that is smaller, sometimes the re-stretch will not allow the range of motion the game requires. And sometimes its damn tough to find a 6’10" cadaver. Sorter legs is not as tough a repair for the med personnel. & also rehab is more successful.
-
@KUSTEVE Yes, Yes let the hate flow thru you lol. I saw a headline on ESPN today that said don’t look now but dook is getting healthy, so I really hope they lose.
-
@globaljaybird @Crimsonorblue22 HCBS’s 600 calls for 2 fingers of CR 75th in celebration. Cheers!
-
@brooksmd have 1 for me!

Michigan staying ahead of UT. Were up 10 b/4 half but UT closed to w/in 3. Now down just 2.
-
Pissed we didn’t get to see the tribute to Coach.
-
Really impressed that we only let up 62 points. Usually when most teams score over 100 they let up 70 or 80 because they take so many possessions off defensively in the game knowing they can score at will. We also had a funky line up from about 8 to go on to the end with walk-ons in most of the last 3 minutes.
-
@RockChalkinTexas guys said a lot about how much he meant to them off the court

He should definitely be serviceable in time. May never start, but then again look at Lucas so you never know. 4-5 year program/glue guys that have smarts and a bit of game to go with it are critical to program success in my book. Releford, Perry (admittedly had a lot of talent), Brady, Reed, RussRob. Gimme these players every day of the week. :tshirt:

Yep. Sometimes just takes 2 years to fully recover as well. Though if Bragg is back to go with Preston and Doke Coleby is going to have a tough time finding minutes next year as well.

Coach Richardson said he was so impressed how unselfish our team is
-
The ball was pinging tonight for sure until the last 6 minutes or so.
-
Jj said he was glad to be a part of coaches 600 wins and the players from the past
-
Was just thinking what young thought if he was watching this game.
-
@RockChalkinTexas I know its not the same, but should be on youtube very soon. Maybe even tomorrow.
-
Thought ll was a lil better, Bragg had a better 2 nd half, agree?

That he will get a lot of three point buckets and fit in well with this offense. I hope anyway.
-
@BShark The redshirt for Mitch will surely come sometime…This team is quite thin in the frontcourt this year & HCBS is playing Mitch whenever he can for just that reason IMO. Recall Mickleson was just not as ready for duty in March as he should have been & Bill learned a tough lesson vs WSU. A great motor is only as great as it’s controlled aggression. Mitch is willing to do the dirty work & let other guys get the stats. All he wants is the win for the Jayhawks.
-
DG and da Bulldog a combined 12-15 on 3’s. 8 rbs, 9 assists, 4 steals and 1, I said 1 TO.
-
@globaljaybird
Fantastic. A shame Conner didn’t have the same attitude.
-
@BShark cf who?
-
@BShark Agreed a home state guy like a Tyrel is a great story for our legacy & overall program. but not meant to be for CF, or the young guy at Eudora-Ballock? Each young guy has a different ego & also goals, and hey, that’s not necessarily a bad thing either.
-
@globaljaybird
Oh for sure. I think CF also made a poor choice with WSU. GREGGGGG is also a hard nosed coach like Self.
I wish Ballock nothing but the best at Creighton. He loved KU, but he is a wing and also wants to play and could see how KU really has it rolling there. It might have not been until his JR year that he really saw the floor for KU, and that isn’t what he wanted and why it can be so difficult to find program players because they will have options to play more at a lower level. I believe Teahan had some scholarship offers but chose to walk-on at KU instead, that’s pretty special but not for everyone of course.
-
Congrats @CoachBillSelf on 600 wins just shows how great of a coach yu really are, glad I got to be apart of a lot of wins love ya!!08champ!

@Crimsonorblue22 The 600 wins are meaningless without making a difference in the lives of so many young men. Especially JamTray and TRob. To me that’s HCBS’s biggest accomplishment. Congrats Coach and looking forward to 700 and many more.
-
@brooksmd Well stated Mr Brooks. +
-
@brooksmd He also kept Darnell Jackson on the straight & narrow when he was very near to self destruction. VERY near!
-
GN guys & girls. Great to talk & even better with a “V”. Will B headin for the barn after Rascal shakes some dew. On da rebound… RCJH !!
-
wow what an incredible game by Frank. I wish i would have been able to get to the game tonight as UMKC is my Alma Mater but unfortunately i’m stuck at work and could only catch glimpses of the game in between calls
-
I guess our new cheer will be Rock Chalk, GrayHawk…go Gray U…
Our colors are blue and crimson, not Mount St Helens ash gray. Adidas, stop with the color changes.

I can’t believe KSU fans are falling for Bruce’s charade this year but they are, and they think they will beat us is Lawrence. Mason is only slightly better than Stokes, Graham vs Brown is even and Iwundu will match Jackson. These are some things I read. Can’t make this stuff up unfortunately.
-
@KUSTEVE those are old
-
@Crimsonorblue22 I can see why…lol.
-
I agree with you, I guess we are old school. Programs used to have traditional colors and those were the only ones used in their uniforms but now they all have unis with colors completely unrelated to the original colors. Many schools now have black uniforms, no doubt a copy of the original Oakland Raiders, hip-hop thug mentality…how in the world does KSU or Maryland, for example, end up with Black uniforms? I guess we should consider ourselves fortunate that KU/Adidas has not yet unveiled a black uniform.
