My son and I attended the Mecum Auto Auction in Kansas City last weekend. Neither of us are what you'd call motorheads (although as a teenager I had a bad-ass '70 Mustang Fastback), but we both had a blast! There were hundreds of awesome cars, trucks and other contraptions. It was really a lot of fun. We saw a 2005 Ford GT sell for $500,000 (I only bid $450k 🙄). If you want to try something different, check it out sometime. I think you'll have fun.

An analogue we stumbled into was going to the local science museum and a high school “battlebots” competition was going on. Setting aside the thought that this was the indoctrination of nerds into the military industrial complex, it was super fun watching the subtle design differences of the kids robots succeed or fail in unexpected ways. We ended up going to another one of these competitions at the airport.

@approxinfinity a few years ago my son "encouraged " me to watch a show like that. I thought I'd hate it, but it was really cool!
