Friday Tourney Chat

@cragarhawk Their D is good enough, not sure it’s good enough for Kentucky, but I think our offense is good enough.
-
As far as perimeter . I don’t see coastal hitting those shots all nite
-
@cragarhawk Apparently this one kid who is scoring for them, Cameron is playing with a chip on his shoulder. He’s from Racine but UW paid him no mind. I don’t know anything about him.
-
@wissoxfan83 y . I think they have the offense to give UK fit . Not sure on the defense. But I hope UK loses before they get the chance obviously
-
@wissoxfan83 don’t you write? Seems like I checked that out awhile back.
-
Oh yeah, forgot about that!! We got to get to that elite 8 against kentucky and then it will be a UW-KU final four!!
-
@wissoxfan83 I would be happy with that. But right now. I just wanna beat WSU
-
@Crimsonorblue22 No, not a writer, although I’d like to try it someday! The geography of basketball or something like that. Of course Kansas is the starting point
-
Anyone know what time we’ll be playing Sunday?
-
@RockChalkinTexas Someone’s picking on oubre!
OUBRE LAUGHS OFF HECKLER — Midway through the first half, freshman Kelly Oubre turned toward a yelling New Mexico State fan in the stands and smiled.
“He called me ugly, and I was just looking at him like, ‘That’s the best you got, man? You’re a guy, and you’re calling me ugly?’” Oubre said with a smile. “He was doing anything to help his team give them a chance to win. I didn’t think anything of it.”
It wasn’t the first time Oubre had been pestered by opposing fans.
“Kansas State said I looked like a girl. They said I had a girl name. So I just think that they think I’m hot or something … I don’t know. I look like a girl? What does that mean? I guess they think I’m a pretty guy,” Oubre said with a laugh. “But it’s funny to hear some of the things that they have to say.”
-
@wissoxfan83 somebody on here does.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Who?
-
@wissoxfan83 don’t remember, it’s been awhile. Maybe someone will know.
-
@wissoxfan83 Damn, I didn’t know there was any educational level lower than misery !! You sure ??? JK !!
My comment did not post for some odd reason the first time-had to edit it.
-
@wissoxfan83 game at 4:15 on cbs. Hope that’s right!
-
@globaljaybird Believe me, it’s evident in many walks of life here.
-
Interesting stat on TruTV - if Providence wins tonight, it will be the first time every higher seed won in the round of 64 on the same day.
-
Wow… a chair was thrown by a coach and gets a T… That brings back memories.
-
Pretty cool!
-
@bskeet unfair call too
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Yeah, the game has been filled with poor officiating, but that call was probably the poster child.
-
@bskeet and the goal tend.
-
Basically the entire country thinks the goal tending was bad call
By the way, Frankamp’s name is not on the official Wichita State Roster, so it is not a surprise he did not travel with the team…I am now wondering if he will even play for WSU…

My undergrad Alma Mater Dayton was the only team to be beat a higher seed and prevented higher seeds from going 16-0 for thr day. They played their 5th game in 8 days and played only 7 players, all 6’-6" or shorter. In the last 2 years they are 5-1 in the tournament, both years as #11 seeds. Pretty impressive; Archie Miller has done a great job.
-
@JayHawkFanToo I’ve seen him at home games and on the sports. Think he can only practice til 2nd semester, next year. Had to pay his tuition til next year too
-
@JayHawkFanToo JFT, your numbers are confusing to me. 5 and 1 in the tournament the past two years?
-
@JayHawkFanToo +1 Archie Miller has done an exceptional job. We already knew he was a very good coach. He has earned my respect as one of the best in the business for exactly what you described. They did get some breaks – playing in Dayton, etc.
-
Last two years…3- 1 last year when they made it to the Elite 8 after beating Stanford and 2-0 so far this year.
-
Dayton finished 2nd in regular conference (Davidson was first) and lost in the Tournament title game to VCU who ended up seeded 7. Dayton was projected as a #7-#8 seed in all pre-selection brackets and instead got a #11 seed and had to play in a play-in game which really should have not had to play…If you consider being underseeded and having to go though a playing game getting a break…then I don’t know what to say to that…of course I am a little biased, but just a little.
