Pitt State/Late Night

The team is deep and athletic. But not the most skilled.
I sort of liked the freshman big man over Mbiya… I think it lets you play more versatile position less basketball.
Too many bodies and not enough minutes. Really want to see Barnett or Rosario see the ball go in and be someone who can find a spot in the rotation.
Dawes needs to be a bit more assertive. Blyden started to find it in the 2nd half and think once he adjusts to the speed of the game and the spotlight of P5 ball he’ll be a bucket. He’s also really quick on D.
Overall, I know it won’t happen, but we’ve got the bodies and athleticism to play some really aggressive defense. A lot of full court press. We could play 9 guys and I think overwhelm teams with our athleticism.

@Kcmatt7 in his press conference Self mentioned several times going 10 deep, once he knows who his 10 best players are.

Hoop season!
Finally got a chance to watch after a week away (Seattle is awesome).
Not sure we can take much away from this exhibition. I really just wanted to see the new guys.
Stokes has promise. Hoping he can minimize turnovers with his aggressive game.
Blyden has a ways to go, and he's a Smurf. Hmm…
Big man Reeves seems comfy on the boards.
Kohl. Dude. Cmon, man. Do something positive. Anything. please.
On a bright note, the ESPN Unlimited integration to YouTube TV was a major upgrade. The broadcast quality is night and day.
Go Hawks!

I know he says it but I just don’t believe him. What is the last good Self team that went 9 deep consistently?

Yea, that was my main takeaway after watching. We got a buttload of guys to find minutes for.

Zero reason to believe him. Also obviously I need to see more but I don't believe we have 10 good enough players for big time games.
Not taking much from Pitt State other than the night and day difference between Reeves and Paul.

Hard to say if we have 10 worthy guys yet. Well, for me at least. I’m only familiar with the returning players.but looks like it’ll be close.
For sure will see playing time: Kinney, Blyden, Council, White, Stokes, Dawes, Parker, Reeves, Mbiya.
TBD: Rosario, Adkins, Barnett.

Well well well, looks like they are very likely officially adding TKR soon. Mordini to Siberia.
-
Crazy if true. Wonder how they get around the scholarship “rules.”
Heck, there are no rules anymore.
-
@rockchalkjayhawk Does that mean with youtubetv I shouldn't be paying for ESPN+?

Mordini will be "out for the season" with a knee injury and will not count against the limit is the working theory.

Yuppers. Correct. 100%.
It’s a bit of a pain so far to find and record stuff, but the + content is there. -
@rockchalkjayhawk OK, so I watched a youtube video on how it works but it doesn't appear to include the game replays. For example I can't watch the basketball replay vs. Pittsburg St. Is that true?

that i haven't tried yet. i will poke around. It's not perfect so far, but free at least.

Ok, I figured out how to watch replays. You can stop paying extra for ESPN+.
It’s convoluted.
The basic answer…you have to connect your YTTV and ESPN accounts. Then you can watch replays on the ESPN app only. YTTV does not have that option.
When in the linked ESPN app, navigate to “browse” (in the same area you find search, home, film/shows), then go to college basketball and find the game.
There’s a ton of detail I left out about linking your accounts, but here’s a start (or dm me):
How to link your ESPN account
You can connect your ESPN account to YouTube TV on a computer or a mobile device:Open the YouTube TV mobile app (I couldn’t do this on my TV, had to got to mobile device)
At the top right, tap Profile .
Click Settings and then Sports.
Turn on “Connect ESPN,” then complete the provided prompts.
After successfully connecting your accounts, visit the ESPN App and sign in to your account to access content.————————-
But of course if you are in YTTV and have all Kansas basketball games set to record ( “add to library” plus sign ), in theory it should record the game so you can watch from your YTTV library.
But this did not work for me for the Pitt State game. Not sure why yet. Other KU games record fine. Perhaps because I hadn’t linked accounts yet? That’s my next project…

@rockchalkjayhawk Thanks again. I'll figure it out. I watched some content last night!
