Rankings KU 2 and 7

It seems as if coaches and the media are having as much trouble figuring this team out as we are. They are currently ranked #2 in the AP with 1 first place vote! Who in the world put KU # 1?
I think the #7 is probably more accurate right now, but it seems like no one has really separated yet as truly elite so who knows.
None of this matters… at all… but we have to talk about something right?

@benshawks08 I think what that says is everyone is trying to find themselves right now. Kentucky looks good, then looks really bad vs. UCLA. NC loses (although without their PG). Gonzaga lost to Arizona, who hadn’t looked that good. We look good in Maui, then not so good afterward. Our loss to MSU doesn’t look so bad, though now. I agree that 7 is probably about right, but with 1 loss to MSU…I can see the rationale for putting us at 2. It’s a crap shoot at this point.

@benshawks08 I’m gonna put us at 4. Had we blown out Harvard, like we should have, we’re two, with MSU 1. I guess I’m not a sky is falling type with the Harvard result like some here have been, but that result keeps us from that 2 spot.

I am curious…who would you place ahead of KU? I know the grass always seems to be greener on the other side of the fence but if you go to other top teams forums you will see that they all think their teams are seriously flawed as well.

@benshawks08 Out of the top 10-12 teams, there really isnt a whole lot of separation. I agree. I mean the 5-7 range for KU seems about right still. #1 is all MSU’s until they cant anymore. Everyone else has lots of bugs to work on. Which should make the season more interesting as things progress.
I mean, last year we had Duke and UK at the top with Wisconsin right up there as far as domination in prospective conferences. Then everybody else.
This year, anyone can beat anyone. There is no clear title favorite yet.
