ISU game Saturday just became even more dangerous

  • watched Baylor-ISU tonight, definite game of runs. now that we are on top by ourselves heading into this game need to be really prepared on top of our game. need complete 40 minutes going to be a very tough 2 1/2 days, Baylor did us no favors- - -well they did but they didn’t.ISU going to be pumped. nu 1. it now is pretty much a must game for the clones, CAN NOT afford a home loss already being now back a game to us nu 2 its KU-ISU always tough ballgames nu 3. ESPN GAME DAY will be pumped, and home court will be jacked. just have to be smart played focused like coach said schedule makers did us no favors 8:00 p.m. Saturday night then turn right around on Monday night and play Oklahoma. we can do it, just play smart, big 3 day weekend coming up GO HAWKS

  • @jayballer54 yes runs…

  • @jayballer54 Baylor did us a HUGE favor. ISU was going to be pumped for this game regardless. It might have been the reason they lost tonight. But now, a loss at ISU doesn’t hurt us nearly as bad. Because we were likely to lose Saturdays game anyway, now it means less if we do. And if we win, we widen our lead that much more. So yeah, Baylor helped us out big time tonight

  • @ZIG Or…we could win Saturday.

  • @ZIG Wacko is the easiest place in the conf for anyone to fall in the trap. So often Baylor is overlooked because of Drew & oft times his talented teams seem to win almost spite of him. Pert near happened to us last week & I recall more than once in the past. Plus OU isn’t planning to go down another game Monday either, so the kids need to pack some big boy clothes for these next 2 on the road. By Tuesday this is gonna get damn interesting.

  • @jayballer54 I’m not trying to be harsh here, but here goes. You have good things to say. Slow down and write it in proper English. It’s tough to read without punctuation and sudden shifts in topics within the same paragraph.

I watched the end of the game you watched. The game revealed the quality of the coaches even though ISU lost. 2 minutes left, crunch time and Baylor is out of TO’s. ISU had 3. I don’t know what happened earlier in the game, but to leave yourself with no TO’s is inexcusable. That being said Freddie should have called one at half court to set up one last shot instead of the 4 second fast break garbage they threw up at the end.

Again, keep writing, just clean it up!

  • I’m not sure that ISU losing to Baylor really hurts us. It at least shows us even more issues that ISU has on defense.

This is probably going to be the toughest away crowd we will face all year. College Game Day, ISU fans who hate us (think guy who confronted Bill post game) and an ISU team that is looking for revenge. My assumption is a close game that we lose and that we will return the favor at AFH.

  • @ZIG I see it the way you do. I hope we get out of Ames with the W but if we don’t it won’t be as big of a deal, I was intensely watching that game last night and when ISU came back not once but twice and it was close there late, I thought for sure Baylor was going to blow it. They had a chance to bury them early and let them back in it. We need to punch them in the mouth early and put our feet on their collective throats. I’m going to try to get up there for the game if I can get cheap enough tickets.

  • What’s to be said about the last play where Long is wide open begging for the ball and Niang hogs it and goes in for the contested basket? Can that tell us anything about how that team is getting along? I saw where Niang tweeted after that he should have seen the open guy but you could clearly see that Long was really upset that he was not given the ball.

Is this the game where Selden pumps in 20+ and/or Svi/Greene hit some big 3’s? I hope Perry, Frank, Jamari and Wayne (plus Tyler, Evan and Christian) tell the freshmen what the environment is going to be like. You’ve got to figure that our guys are used to a lot of noise but it will be different because it will be directed AT them instead of FOR them. I think this is a game where our non-conference games will make us a tougher team down the stretch.

  • @RockChalkinTexas It happened so fast that maybe Niang can be excused for not making the pass thinking clock might run out. I was actually pulling for ISU as I really can’t stand Drew and Baylor.

  • @wissoxfan83 English in high school was never my strong point in school. now being 61 yrs old those days are over. glad to see you got was I was saying point was taken. you was able to figure out what I was trying to get across, sorry didn’t realize I was being graded on grammer again lol but the only thing I guess I can tell you is when you see I post just ignore and refrain from reading the post seeing as I am lousy at grammer, and again being aas I am now 61 yrs of age more likely then not grammer probably isn’t likely happen to change. GO HAWKS

  • @wissoxfan83

Baylor led by as many as 17 point in the first half and by 8 at the break; Baylor also lead by 14 with 8 minutes left on the game and then ISU made it run and it eventually took the lead with 14 seconds left. Drew really had no choice but to burn timeouts to try to stop ISU’s momentum and get his team to stop trying to give the game away; it happens, remember West Virginia last year? KU was out of time outs 3 minutes into the second half when it fell fell 21 point behind and after that started chipping away and got within 4 but only 11 second were left and it ended up losing by 6. BTW, Wiggins had 41 points and 8 rebounds in that game.
