Hit The Road Clint.........
-
An open letter to Clint Bowen. Clint - get out now. Hit the road. Scram. Vamoose. Buh-bye. Go. Leave. See Ya. Adios. Later Gator. That’s not what me or the players or the fans say. That’s what your boss, Sha-Zing says.
“We were looking for someone who carried himself confidently, yet with a humble nature, someone who valued substance over style, someone who would undersell and overproduce, and finally, just work hard. What we found in _____ _____ is not only someone who exhibits these qualities but is also a highly respected teacher, coach, recruiter and colleague in the football fraternity.”
Sha-Zing filled in the blanks with " David Beaty ", but it should have been " Clint Bowen ". You don’t want to work for an idiot, do you?
My own personal advice: Go.
You’ll never be head coach here as long as Sha-Zing is here. He will continue to hire other no name, un-proven “coaches” and overlook you as long as he’s in charge. The new guy could be the next …Urban Meyer. Or not. Doesn’t matter. If he is here 3 years and wins 30 games, he’ll jump ship to some big name football program.
Leave Lawrence, go build a name for yourself and come back here long after Sha-Zing has been fired (could be as few as two years from now) and show the world what a moron he really was.
Then when you are established and proven, you will finally have your dream job.
Go.

I don’t usually put a whole lot of thought into KU football, but what you wrote seems to be true. Although I must say our last coach was not a n0-name. He was unproven in my opinion, but he certainly had a name as big as his girth.
And I hope you’re wrong about David Beaty, as I’m sure you do, but I doubt it!
-
@wissoxfan83 I was sorry (and surprised) to see your Badgers coach jump ship too…
-
I was surprised but not sorry.
He mangled our first game of the year so badly against LSU, and then weeks later against Northwestern, that I’m just glad he’s gone. He lied about three times about decisions he made at LSU, particularly why our Heisman trophy candidate Gordon only carried the ball 3 times in the 2nd half. He said Gordon was hurt. Gordon said he wasn’t. He stubbornly stuck his QB over a competent, but not a superstar, QB until the damage was done against NW. He interviewed for the Browns job after only one year in Madison. Don’t let the Jump Around hurt you on the way out of town Gary Andersen!

@wissoxfan83 Not being a Badgers follower, I wasn’t aware of all that. I’m still surprised, but now I’m not sorry! Lol.

@wissoxfan83
Interesting that two coaches leave in a 3 year period for lesser programs. Gordon leaving for the NFL and the pasting by OSU probably had something to do with it.
-
@JayHawkFanToo Some are blaming Barry Alvarez saying he’s got an ego that is making this happen twice now.
-
@wissoxfan83
Well…he will be coaching Wisconsin at their Bowl…
-
@JayHawkFanToo Yeah, I’d just as soon see him working really hard on finding our replacement, hope it’s not Charlie Weiss!
-
I couldn’t agree more. I feel sorry for Clint because he won’t. He loves KU too much.
-
@DoubleDD I don’t think he will leave either. I really wish he would though, it seems the only possible way he will ever be head coach here is to be one somewhere else first…
-
If Beaty does not work out, he and Zenger will leave together.
-
@JayHawkFanToo do we need to wait on Beaty for SZ to leave?
-
I wish we did not have to either; the stupid TV contract alone should be a firing offense…firing squad offense that is…:)
-
@JayHawkFanToo throw in the crappy building at Rock chalk park too!
-
@nuleafjhawk Wait, I thought Bowen was going to stay and work with Beaty.
-
@Lulufulu You’re right - he is staying. I was urging him to leave, establish himself as a head coach somewhere and then come back and rule the BIG 12 !
Don’t ever see him promoted to head coach here without some prior head coaching experience…
-
@nuleafjhawk ah, gotcha.
