Enaruna On Campus
-
I know McBride and Braun (wow what a long trip) were already there. Enaruna just recently arrived in case anyone was worried (I wouldn’t blame them lol).
-
Have classes started?
-
Yes, today
-
Enaruna, McBride and Garrett all helping out with Ballard’s Washburn basketball camp today. Good kids!
-
-
WARNING SHAY but this is the first we’ve really heard from Enaruna
-
@BShark he had to defend doke at his first practice…lolol…welcome to ku basketball, tristan!
-
@KUSTEVE Didn’t they outlaw hazing?
-
“I just knew, that I could get really good here. Probably to the best of my abilities” LOVE IT
-
“Just being here, getting coached by Coach Self, hearing his voice in practice kind of let me know I’m actually playing for KU,” Braun said. "Just the whole thing in general helped me realize I’m actually here.”
Back on one of his weekly Hawk Talk shows during the season, the soon-to-be-17th-year KU coach made a strong statement about Braun. “Christian Braun is a winner,” Self said.
What did Braun think about that comment?
“To be called a winner from a guy like Coach Self who is one of the best and biggest winners in college basketball history means a lot, but I would love to be a part of what he does and what this program does because winning at that level is a lot higher level than what I’ve won at,” Braun said. “Just being called that means a lot, but I want to win at the highest level. I think Coach Self can help me do that.”
-
@BShark These young guys are so money in the head.
-
@approxinfinity Not the class we wanted, but maybe the class we needed?
-
@BShark Absolutely. Someone referred to the class balance that we now have. That is so vital to sustained success and playing team oriented, tough defensive basketball. Having guys that age up year over year makes it a lot easier to fill in holes to maintain the class balance. I couldn’t be more pleased with the last 2 classes after Transfer U experiment disaster year.
-
@BShark Enaruna, Braun and McBride by themselves would have been a great recruiting class.
-
@approxinfinity Class balance? Er, would that have been me? I love this class and Moss is a great get, but do not want to be Transfer U.

He’s saying all the right things. It’s refreshing hearing a player who appreciates the mystique, tradition, and history of the program. I’m really hoping he turns out to be a good player for us in time.

@KirkIsMyHinrich he also knows how to speak. Sometimes hard for a freshman, sometimes they have a hard time forever. It’s nice!
-
@KirkIsMyHinrich I was struck by the lack of awe he had. The dude has a real nice quiet confidence where he doesn’t seem out of his element at all. Even if he only gets scrap minutes for a year or two, I feel like at some point, he will end up in the rotation in the future. Maybe never a starter, but a reliable shooter with good ball skills.

Jamaal? He’s doing better now though
-
@BShark Perry, so very introverted, at least in front of a camera. I actually hurt for him! Vick svi was fun! Those guys, frank and DG gave him a really hard time.
-
@KUSTEVE with all due respect, I disagree with you on that analysis. Think that by junior year he’ll not only start but star.
-
@Marco I hope you’re right. I like him- he’s confident w/o being cocky.
-
@KUSTEVE I hope I’m right too, Steve. He is very skilled and a fighter! Imagine him in about two years with weight and muscle… Gordon Hayward?
