Lets get it on

Nova is the East Coast darling. All the talking heads are hanging their hats on Nova. Unbeatable they say. Just look at their offense efficiency they say. Look at the five starters that can hit the 3 pointer they say. Look at how they have been playing lock down defense they say.
Well lets get on. Um Nova meet Doka. Um Nova meet Newman. Um Nova meet De Sousa. Um Nova meet this years KU team. They’re tough as nails. No they don’t always look pretty. Yet lets be fair Nova. You play in an old and tattered version of the Big East. In fact a strong case can be made you underperformed.
While you were beating up on the old so called Big East and falling short. KU was playing in a conference that put 4 in the final eight. KU was playing in what most consider the strongest conference in the country. Um Nova, KU closed the deal unlike you.
So Nova Enjoy that east coast love. Soak it up to till you’re punk drunk. Yet sober up Nova. You see Nova, KU is coming and they’re not scared. They don’t see your lofty ranking. They don’t see all your east coast love. They don’t see that Nike emblem on your shoes.
Nope you’re just another foe that must learn some respect. They see another foe that is going to learn that this year’s KU team is pretty specail.
Rock Chalk Nova. Rock Chalk. It’s coming boys and girls. It’s coming coach Jay, and you know it.

@DoubleDD all that bulletin board material would just fuel KU players’ defensive intensity during the game. I am fired up just reading it. RCJHGKU!!!
-
To all my fellow KU Jayhawk fans: Let’s all enjoy the game tomorrow night without getting a stroke or breaking any T.V.s.

-
@DoubleDD The same guys were saying Mich St. or Duke would cut down the nets.
-
No one can say KU had an easy path, they are earning this ‘ship.

Ok, here is what I think: For this game, I think we could be a better team with DeSousa in the lineup. We’re faster, more agile, we rebound better, and we play faster when De Sousa is in the line up. With Spellman being a big man who can hit 3s, I would like to see Silvio play at least as much as Doke. I love Doke, and I think he could dominate Monday night, but for this game, the more Silvio, the better.
-
@KUSTEVE nice thing is we have choices. I like to make them play our way, can they guard Doke? Just like nobody thought we could match up w/Duke. It was duke who had trouble w/us!
-
@Crimsonorblue22 I’m rewatching the Dook game, and there were 4 or 5 simply great plays that Silvio made defending that changed the course of the game. No doubt, Nova is going to be hard pressed to stop Doke down low. At the same time, we’re playing against extremely mobile bigs, and Doke still isn’t 100%. So, whatever we gain by the Doke mismatch, we might turn and give up on the other end. Doke trying to defend the perimeter has always been a dodgy thing.

@DoubleDD Villanova lost two starters during the conference season to injury, was competing with another #1 seed for the conference title, and played in a conference that sent 6 teams to the tournament. They have the best record in college basketball the last 5 years, and have a national championship under their belts during that time. I have tons of respect for their program, as they develop players the same way we do. They are now at full strength, and have blown out good teams out in the tournament so far. They have a difficult time getting many of the big name programs to schedule them, as they are always a tough out. IMO, this will be our toughest game of the year, but we will win.
-
After waiting 6 years, the time is finally here. Don’t know what to do with myself for 7 more hours.
-
This is the best motivation for this team, play with a chip.
-
@Eric-san you can watch the 4 hour special like I am lol. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
-
pundits and lines makers all in on Nova At least we can play the nothing to lose card and let it fly.
Kansas. An underdog to a Private Catholic school from Philly. Let that sink in.

There is a time to show respect to an opposing school. Now is not the time. It’s Rock Chalk time. We’ll get together after KU wins tonight and talk about how much we both respect the Nova program, and Coach Jay.
