Everything Is Starting

  • I’m all in with @HighEliteMajor.

    Cue Tony Bennett…

The best is yet to come…

Ah, was Malik a weaponized bundle of fast twitch, or what? SHOWCASE THIRTY!!!

And then we have Mitch stepping into the breach and delivering with Silvio telegraphing some next season this season!! The M&S Committee went 14/14 from the post! Big time!

And Svi was starting to ramp back up out of his mini slump.

And Self rested Devonte a whole minute, so Devonte is rested for tomorrow!!!

    Go, Hawks, GO!

  • Almost forgot Vick finding his mojo!!

Things were never better. Just gotta keep finding the sweet spot!

  • I think we got hosed a little bit by the refs as well today. Could have won by 40. Graham had some bad passes. Vick just needs a little more effort on D.

Garrett and Newman were money. Lightfoot and Silvio are progressing. Silvio could start to get really good in these next few games.

  • Once this Kansas team was flawed, a red bullseye painted right on its back. This was the year that we would be taken out. We weathered the Preston situation with incredible leadership by Dtae and we’re poised enough to battle until Silvio joined the team. It’s so late in the season they said. He would never play any minutes and would never learn the system in time they said. Now look at us. Big 12 champs. Scores of awards and Silvio proved today he can be a reliable, dare I say somewhat dominant, low post threat. LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • @SkinnyKansasDude Dont think i can jump to dominant but he was again above average on the boards. He just doent know how to play defense yet. But he is overcoming with athletecism. He also has fresh legs which could be a boon for us down the stretch. By his late soph / jr year he will be dominant on the glass for sure. I love his game, attitude, and spirit.

  • @jaybate-1.0 Yes, I laughed when I saw DG coming out…I knew it wouldn’t be for long. “a whole minute’”…that sums it up.

  • @Fightsongwriter haha dominant was def a stretch i was just way too hyphy writing that. His size and athleticism is undeniable tho. He made the post player who killed us in Stillwater small in stature in comparison. The kid is huge.

  • @SkinnyKansasDude I think he is gonna be one of my all time favorites.

  • “A couple times he pulled me to the side. He told me to be aggressive,” Newman, KU’s 6-foot-3 sophomore combo guard from Jackson, Miss., said of coach Bill Self, after scoring a career-high 30 points in the Jayhawks’ 82-68 Big 12 quarterfinal victory over Oklahoma State on Thursday at the Sprint Center.

“Coach has been preaching that guards win postseason games,” Newman added after hitting 11 of 15 shots, including 4 of 6 threes and 4 of 6 free throws. “I wanted to come out today, make plays and help the team.”

  • “I told our guys (assistants), ‘Let’s put James in before Silvio the second time.’ They were like, ‘No.’ I’m probably glad we made that decision (to put De Sousa back in; he played eight minutes, scoring four points with seven boards the first half). It’s nice to have James, but I never thought going into the season … you’ve got Udoka and Billy Preston, that James Sosinski might be important in the postseason,” Self added, smiling.

  • Mitch played good defense and took a few charges (something you don’t see on the scoreboard) at critical times.
