Well , honestly and I know this may come across wrong but not meant that way BUT with what has went down with Louisville may in the long run be beneficial for KU.
Since Rick got fired within the hour of that happening BOTH Courtney Ramey & Anfernee Simons de-committed. Since that time Anfernee Simons has picked up 4CB’s for Florida, might be enough even more to sway Devon away from Florida - yes I know he is listed as a CG but has played some point also - you never know – - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
I have dish and for the most part am satisified BUT that is the one thing I can’t get Jayhawk network - -so I miss a few of the games not many but I want them ALL. - -BUT I took dish cause Cox was absolutely killing me bill wise. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
After winning the title in 2014 Ohio State was after nationally ranked players Ivan Rabb, Jaylen Brown, Cheick Diallo (remember him?), Thomas Bryant and point guard Isaiah Briscoe…it got none of the above; granted, I am not sure if any was from Ohio which is know for developing football more so than basketball players, although KU did get Carlton Bragg from Ohio. One top player that was from Ohio is Luke Kennard, the top player in Ohio that year who chose Duke instead. BTW, Thad Matta was fired earlier this year.
Alabama got two top 50 players #4 Collin Sexton and #34 John Petty for the 2017 class…AFTER it lost to Clemson in the title game. Before that and after winning 4 titles in the last 8 years, the only top 50 player I can remember is Terrance Ferguson who also committed to Arizona and ended up playing overseas anyway.
The only school that had champions in football and basketball in the same season recently is Florida and that was while back, and after Donovan left it has not been the same. The success was not due to the success of the other sport but having great coaches in both programs.
For the record, I think Vick is going to make an NBA roster. I think he can be a guy like McCaw for the Warriors. I just don’t ever think he will be a guy who carries a team by himself. He can’t create his own shot well enough. But he can play good D, finish in transition and hit the open 3. Guys like Vick are the difference between winning championships and not.
I think Vick would be dumb to return for his senior year when he still would have upside most players aren’t looked at as having their Junior years. Especially after he shoots better and plays better D. I think he will play himself into the end of the first or early 2nd round this season. I personally don’t see his stock climbing any higher than that, even with a very good Senior season. He would have to have a Denzel Valentine type of season where he is amazingly efficient on offense to even think about climbing higher than the end of the first/early 2nd. I don’t see that happening for Vick, or him even having the touches to do such a thing if we land the monster class it looks like we will land. Because of this, and sticking to the topic of the thread, I think that Vick will leave meaning we will lose 6 players.
