KU Commits Stat Tracker

  • David McCormack 12 pts 11 rebs in Oak Hill’s first game.

  • @BShark nice boards!

  • @Crimsonorblue22 Yes. Also important to know they have a top 15 recruit guard/wing and then a couple other nice guards as well. So he isn’t really the focal part of the offense.

  • David McCormack put up 23 and 11 today in a blowout win for Oak Hill over Word of God Academy.

Found the full box score for this. http://www.prepcircuit.com/game/show/19571946?subseason=412391

Big Dave 8-12 from the floor, 7-11 from the line.

  • McCormack 11 and 8 tonight.

  • Dotson had 37 points, 10 rebounds and three assists in Tuesday’s 87-73 win over previously unbeaten Legacy Charter. For the season, Dotson is averaging 31.3 points, 10.3 rebounds and four assists.

  • Grimes went off for 32 points the day before he announced for KU.

He had 31 pts 13 reb and 5 ast in their first game.

  • Grimes went for 51 last night.

His nickname is now I get buckets

  • @BeddieKU23 Hot diggity dog…

  • Grimes is so exciting, just makes it look almost too easy

  • I said earlier that I would be more excited if KU got Grimes than I would if they got Williamson, and I stand by that. Grimes is a stud. So happy he’s a Jayhawk.

I’ll take Zion too (but I don’t think it happens).

  • Grimes looks a lot like Trae Young did to me. Who is averaging 18 and 11 (assists) for OU in this early season. Think of all the ball handlers next year we will have. Garrett isn’t as much as a scorer as the other 2 but fills the stat sheet. Dotson and Grimes are probably end up being more of a SG rather than a PG but having 2 or 3 that can bring the ball up the floor will be good. I personally think Garrett starts PG next year.

Dotson will be the starting PG next year.

  • Dotson is a pure point. He was offered the keys. It’s a bad look if he doesn’t start at PG so unless it’s a really inferior option (which I doubt) I’d say he officially starts at PG. Also he isn’t as rough of a shot as Garrett, but he does need some work there.

Grimes is a lot different than Young imo. Young has in the gym shooting range. Grimes doesn’t but he has more explosive athleticism to his game.

  • Grimes went for 50 AGAIN. 18 rebounds and 12 assists in that game too…

    Followed it up with 27/10/6.

Probably tired in game 2, as they were on the same day, so I’ll excuse not breaking 50 again. :joy:

  • Wow! Wins I hope?

Yep. College Park is currently 2-1 (I think) at the Washington TOC. The only other college level player they have is Shannon Scott who is a JUCO level guy.

I know they lost to EJ Liddell’s team (Grimes had 23 in this one, didn’t get much help), and have two wins. I believe these are all the games they have played so far but it can be difficult to find the info. Usually the box scores are incomplete too…they only bother posting up the stats for legit recruits.

  • Washington TOC‏ @WCHSTOC Follow Follow @WCHSTOC More Final Score Uplift 83 Urbana 75 Markese Jacobs plays 2 quarters and leads all scorers with 37 for Uplift

  • Grimes is amazing, but he’ll be a oad. He states as much at the end of the video when he says he won’t play with Markese. No big surprise there. Jacobs looks nice, but Grimes stands out.

  • I’ve said before and I will say again, if Grimes was classified as a PG (his future NBA position), he would be one of the top 7 players in his class. As a 2 guard, you can understand why scouts are less high on him (he’s only 6-4, which makes him a bit small as a prototype wing player). But if he’s a PG, he’s probably the #6 player in this class - he passes Quickley, Garland, and Jones because he’s bigger, plus Bazley, Simons, Johnson, and Shittu based on the value of PG above non-elite PF and wings. He doesn’t pass Barrett, Langford, Reddish, or Williamson because they are elite players, and doesn’t pass Bol Bol because he’s a C (and probably elite or very close to it).

  • Grimes is one fine player; however, he is so much taller and faster than the kids he is playing against that it is almost unfair; competition in college will be considerably better. Jacobs is also a very good player; 6 inches taller and he is a top 10 player.

  • He’s a true combo, but I think his PG skills are getting better. Wouldn’t surprise me to see him on the ball mostly when Dotson is out, plus Moore is more of a scoring guard. Jacobs is going to be really good too. Already has a great first step and has a great motor. Just needs to develop as a PG and get a more consistent jumper.

Yeah, to me Jacobs is a guy that doesn’t start year one but is a beast years 3-4.

Dotson will start next year but he has a ways to go on his shot.

Next year intrigues me in general. I would expect some early losses but by the end of the year we could be the best team.

  • 41 for Grimes tonight.

  • 2 games for Grimes today. 21 in a win and 38 in a loss.

  • Looks like Grimes continues to put up big numbers

  • BeddieKU23 said:

Yeah, in the 21 point game he also had 12 ast and 10 reb.

    STUD

  • He has two more games today and it’s been pretty easy to find his stats so I’ll be sure to post them. It’s been more difficult to find stats for McCormack as he doesn’t have a twitter account and while I follow Oak Hill accounts they haven’t been too active about it.

Yeah Big Dave is on a loaded team so I expect a lot of 12 & 7 type lines from him. With Keldon Johnson & Will Richardson Dave plays a complimentary role

  • 32 and 20 pts in the games yesterday. College Park lost both.

  • Sounds like Grimes team isn’t that great.

Having to sit through Q’s painful pre-commit video it was clear it was Grimes and a bunch of dudes on his team

  • Pretty normal high school situation. The only other player that will play beyond HS is going to a Kansas JUCO.

  • Grimes had 27 points in a win last night. Back to playing TX HS competition.

  • @BShark

poster on phog went to the game, said he had to sit most of the 3rd with fouls. Took over the 4th for the win. Everyone that see’s him has given a glowing report

  • Devon scored 23 for his teams 1st game over in China, did pretty well even though they lost - played the same organization they said that got into the brawl with George town in 2011 - - Bayi Rockers , still had a pretty decent game. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • Devon and RJ Barrett going to square off Tomorrow for the championship in China. - -Wonder if they will run across Li Angelo or La Melo Ball lol. - -Anyways now being serious, they are matching up for the Championship tomorrow at 3:00 p.m.

Devon had a pretty damn good game scoring 33 points , 7 rebounds and 6 assists not a bad nights work - wishing you the best Devon let’s do this - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • Markese Jacobs 18 pts, 11 asts and 4 steals last game.

Grimes 24 points a couple days ago in a blowout win.

  • I was bummed when Grimes said he likely won’t be playing with Markese. I hope he shows out if he’s gonna be an oad.

  • dylans said:

I hear ya. I don’t think he is totally opposed to staying 2 years if need be. However even if he did stay, he wouldn’t see the court too much with Markese. Markese is likely a kid that doesn’t play too much as a FR. Barring rapid development anyway.

  • Markese 23 Pts, 4 Ast, 3 Stl

  • Dotson went for 29/10/7 today.

Grimes dropped 37 and did a thing.
